미야니시 다츠야 그림책에 나타난 아버지 역할에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 급변하는 현시대의 아버지 역할을 탐구하기 위해 세계적인 베스트셀러 작가인 미야니시 다츠야의 그림책에 나타난 아버지의 역할을 분석하였다. 연구대상은 미야니시 다츠야 작가의 국내 번역된 그림책 65권 중 아버지 역할이 나타난 6권의 그림책이었다. Lamb(1985), 김세희, 나은숙(2004), 김낙흥(2011), 김영철, 양진희(2014) 연구의 아버지 역할을 준거로 분석한 결과, 미야니시 다츠야 그림책에서는 총 3개 상위 범주와 각각 2개씩의 하위 범주의 아버지 역할이 나타났다. 첫째, 역할을 찾아 성장하는 아버지로 자녀와의 상호작용을 통해 스스로 역할을 인식하고 학습하는 아버지이다. 둘째, 친근함으로 소통하는 아버지로 자녀와 함께 시간을 보내며 놀아주고 자녀에 대해 느끼는 애정을 솔직하게 표현하는 아버지이다. 셋째, 모범적으로 양육하는 아버지로 자녀를 위험으로부터 안전하게 보호하고 삶의 기술을 가르치며 자녀에게 본이되는 아버지이다. 이러한 연구결과는 과거로부터 이어오는 전통적인 아버지의 역할에서 현대에 새롭게 요구하는 아버지의 역할 모습을 보여줌으로써 그림책을 통해 아버지 역할에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓힌다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the father's role in the picture books of Tatsuya Miyanishi, a worldrenowned best-selling author, to explore the rapidly changing role of the father in the modern era. The subjects of this study were six picture books in which the father's role appeared out of 65 domestically translated picture books by Tatsuya Miyanishi. As a result of analyzing the father roles of Lamb (1985), Kim Se-hee and, Na eun-sook (2004), Kim Nak-heung (2011), and Kim yong-chol and, Yang Jin-hee (2014) as a reference, in the picture books of Tatsuya Miyanishi, a total of three upper categories and two subcategories of father roles were found. First, he is a growing father who finds a role and recognizes and learns his role through interaction with his children. Second, he is a father who communicates with intimacy and spends time with his children, plays, and honestly expresses the affection he feels for his children. Third, he is an exemplary nurturing father who protects his children from danger, teaches them life skills, and is an example to his children. The results of these studies are significant in that children and father's broaden their understanding of the father’s role through picture books by showing the father roles newly required in the modern era compared to the traditional father roles from the past.
