'이해를 위한 교수법'을 적용한 창의적 재량활동 프로그램의 실행연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 심층적이고 다각적인 인물탐구과정을 통해 진정한 자아를 파악하는 기회를 마련하고자 ‘이해를 위한 교수법’을 적용한 창의적 재량활동 프로그램을 개발하여 현장에 적용하였다. 수업관찰과 심층면담을 통해 1년 동안의 적용과정을 체계적으로 분석한 결과, 현장교사와 학습자의 변화와 그 의미를 파악할 수 있었다. 그 변화로 첫째, 학습자는 인물탐구 과정 속에서 자신을 포함한 인간에 대해 이해하는 방식을 배웠다. 한 인간을 해석하는 다양한 접근방식을 통해 보다 인물에 대한 명확하고 섬세한 관점이 형성됨과 동시에 긍정적인 자아개념이나 자신감을 획득할 수 있었다. 뿐만 아니라 체계적인 협력학습을 통해 의견조율 방법, 의사결정 방법, 그리고 동료에 대한 적극적인 배려 등 발전적이고 상보적인 인간관계 형성에 필요한 기법을 획득했다. 둘째, 교사는 교육 프로그램을 개발하고 시행하는 과정을 통해 교육과정 개발 및 새로운 교수법에 대한 자신감과 도전의식을 기르게 되었다. 이해의 다차원적인 표현방식은 개별 학습자에 대해 깊이 있고 세심한 배려를 가능하게 하였다. 나아가 역사교육에 대한 인식과 접근을 확장시킴으로써 심화학습을 꾀할 수 있었다. 자율성과 융통성을 지향하는 취지에서 새롭게 시도되는 창의적 재량활동 시간에 교사나 학생의 특성이나 능력에 맞게 ‘이해를 위한 교수법’을 적용한다면, 21세기가 지향하는 창의적이고 자율적인 학습자를 양성하는데 도움이 될 것이다. The purpose of this study was to develop a creative optional activities(COA) curriculum for the Teaching for Understanding(TfU), and analyzing its effects on development both for high school students. The curriculum was implemented to the 10th graders for a year in a Korean high school. As research methods, classroom observation, content analysis, and in-depth interviews were applied for the research. Teaching and learning materials, students' reflection, and teacher's journals were developed and analyzed during the implementation. Analysis of collected data was focused on assessing possibilities of the COA for the TfU theory in a Korean classroom. At the same token, limitations and dilemmas were identified. By taking the curriculum, students had developed not only their insights on understanding people, but also a positive self-concept and a self-confidence. Furthermore, they acquired decision-making strategies and social skills. In regard to the issue of teacher development, the history teacher had improved her professionalism and self-esteem. Consequently, she enhanced her expertise as a curriculum specialist and broadened an insight to understand students. In conclusion, the program was effective in terms of prompting students' self-directed learning and developing teacher's professionalism. It implied that a new curriculum model, TfU, could optimize students' understanding and their learning through the COA in a Korean context.
