What Factors Influence Korean University Students' Continued Intention to Use Generative AI? : Focusing on TAM and ECM

국문 초록

This study investigates the factors influencing the continuous use intention of generative AI among Korean university students. Specifically, the study utilized the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) and Expectation Confirmation Model(ECM) to investigate these factors. Data collection was conducted online targeting students from three universities located in the metropolitan area, following a pilot test of the survey items, from early May to mid-June 2023. Through this study, key factors affecting students' intentions to continue using generative AI were identified. The findings are as follows. First, EC was found to be a significant factor influencing students' continuous use intention of generative AI. Second, ATT towards generative AI was identified as having a direct significant impact on the CUI among university students. Third, PU emerged as an important factor in shaping students' intentions to continue using generative AI. Fourth, SAT played a crucial role in forming students' intentions to continue using generative AI. Fifth, PEOU was found to have no significant impact on STF or ATT towards generative AI. Based on these findings, the current study presents additional discussions and implications.

영문 초록

본 연구는 한국 대학생들의 생성형 AI 활용에 대한 지속적인 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하였다. 특히, 본 연구에서는 지속적인 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하기 위하여 기술수용모형(TAM)과 기대일치모형(ECM)을 활용하였다. 자료수집은 설문 항목에 대한 파일럿테스트를 거친 후 2023년 5월 초부터 6월 중순까지 진행하였으며 수도권에 위치한 3개 대학의 학생들을 대상으로 온라인으로 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 대학생들의 생성형 AI 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인들을 도출할 수 있었다. 이를 구체적으로 제시하면 첫째, 기대 확인은 학생들의 생성형 AI 지속 사용 의도에 중요한 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 둘째, 생성형 AI에 대한 ATT가 대학생들의 CUI 에 직접적으로 커다란 영향을 미친다는 사실을 파악할 수 있었다. 셋째, PU는 대학생들이 생성형 AI를 계속 사용하려는 의도를 형성하는 데 중요한 요인으로 나타났다. 넷째, SAT는 AI 생성형를 계속 사용하려는 대학생들의 의도를 형성하는 데 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, PEOU가 생성형 AI 에 대한 STF, ATT에 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 연구결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구에서는 추가 논의와 시사점을 제시하였다.
