국문 초록

본 연구는 초·중·고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 기후변화에 대한 인식과 태도를 조사하여 학교급별, 성별에 따른 차이와 기후변화에 영향을 주는 환경 요인이 무엇인지 조사하였다. 이에 따라 총 604명의 초·중·고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 기후변화에 대한 인식과 태도를 묻는 설문을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 다른 학교급에 비해 초등학생들의 기후변화에 대한 인식과 태도가 가장 높았으며 대응 행동을 제외한 모든 영역에서 중학생이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 또한 성별의 경우, 여학생들이 남학생에 비해 전반적으로 기후변화에 대한 인식과 태도가 높았지만 중학교 및 고등학교급에서는 유의미한 차이가 존재하지 않았다. 한편, 기후변화에 대한 인식과 태도에 영향을 주는 환경 요인으로 과학에 대한 선호도, 과학에 대한 자신감 등 대부분의 요인이 관련이 있었으나 특히 과학 영상 시청 경험이 다양한 요소에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 설문 결과를 토대로 학생들의 기후변화에 대한 인식과 태도를 향상시키기 위해 필요한 교육적 시사점에 대해 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This research aims at investigating students’ perceptions and attitudes toward climate change based on the school level and sex and studying the environmental factors influencing their perceptions and attitudes. Therefore, 604 primary and secondary students were asked to answer the questionnaire relevant to climate change. The findings demonstrated that primary students were more aware of climate change in the overall aspects of climate change while middle school students demonstrated least awareness. Female students tended to be more sensitive and aware of climate change rather than male students. However, there were no substantial differences between middle and high school levels. In terms of the environmental factors related to the perception and attitude toward climate change, any aspects had a considerable relationship with the perception and attitude toward climate change. Among them, the experience of watching science videos had the greatest influence on different perceptions and attitudes toward climate change. According to the findings, this research gave several implications for education to improve students’ abilities to endure climate change.
