국문 초록

본 연구는 기후변화와 관련된 환경일기 쓰기 교육이 초등학생의 환경 친화적 태도와 환경 감수성에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는 것에 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 B광역시에 소재한 B초등학교 5학년 1개 반 27명(남 14명, 여 13명)을 연구집단으로 설정하여 연구를 진행하였다. 연구집단에서 기후변화와 관련된 10차시 수업 후 환경일기 쓰기를 실시하여 그 효과를 알아보았다. 본 연구의 수행을 위해서 우선 수업 처치 전 환경 친화적 태도와 환경 감수성에 대한 사전 검사지를 시행하였고 10차시의 수업 후 사후검사지 및 설문조사를 시행하여 그 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기후변화와 관련된 환경일기 쓰기 교육이 초등학생의 환경 친화적 태도 향상에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기후변화와 관련된 환경일기 쓰기 교육이 초등학생의 환경 감수성 향상에 유의미한 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 기후변화와 관련된 환경일기 쓰기 교육을 한 후 학생들의 환경 오염 문제에 대한 관심도가 높아졌고 다른 교과에서 환경 관련 주제에 대한 이해도가 향상되었으며 스스로의 생활 습관 변화를 통하여 기후 변화 문제를 개선하려는 의지가 높아졌다. 위와 같은 결과를 토대로, 기후변화와 관련된 환경일기 쓰기 교육은 지속가능한 발전을 위해서 환경에 대해 알고 환경을 위한 마음으로 친환경 행동을 실천하는 시민을 양성하는데 효과적인 교육 방법으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether writing an environmental diary in relation to education on climate change affects elementary school pupils’ proenvironmental attitudes and environmental sensitivity. The subjects of this study were 27 pupils from one class at B elementary school in B metropolitan city. The Environment 10 class related to climate change education using an environmental diary was conducted in the study group. Before the study lessons, the group’s proenvironmental attitudes and environmental sensitivity were examined. After the instruction, a post-test and a questionnaire were conducted, and the results were compared and analyzed. The results of this study are as follows: First, writing an environmental diary related to climate change education is effective in formatting students’ proenvironmental attitudes. Second, writing an environment diary related to climate change education for elementary school pupils is effective in forming pupils’ environmental sensitivity. Third, pupils in elementary school had a high interest in environmental problems and had a good understanding of how environmental topics are related to other subjects in the school education curriculum. Additionally, elementary school pupils demonstrated a significant desire to resolve environmental problems. Writing environmental diaries in relation to climate change education is thought to have influenced elementary school pupils’ proenvironmental attitudes and environmental sensitivity.
