국문 초록

본 연구는 국가수준의 유치원평가를 안내하고 그 준비과정을 지원하는 조력활동에 대한 원장과 교사의 인식 및 요구를 알아보기 위해 U, B, K시의 유치원 원장과 교사 304명을 연구대상으로 조사 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 원장과 교사 대부분은 유치원평가를 위한 조력활동의 필요성을 매우 높게 인식하고 있으며 교육과정영역에서 가장 많은 조력을 원하였다. 둘째, 조력활동의 시기 및 횟수, 조력담당자, 유형 및 운영형태 등을 살펴본 결과, 원장과 교사 모두 유치원평가가 완료될 때까지 조력활동을 지원하되, 개별 유치원의 요청이 있을 때마다, 각 평가영역별 전문성이 확보된 조력전문가가 유치원을 방문하여 평가지표별로 점검․진단하고 평가관련 정보나 자료를 제공해주길 원하며, 점검결과 유치원의 취약영역을 개선하고 지원해주는 조력활동을 가장 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 조력자의 자질과 역할에 대한 인식은 원장이 교사보다 더 많은 기대치를 가지고 있으며 하위영역 중 전문적 자질과 조력관련 자질, 정서적 지원 역할에서 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 대부분의 영역에서 원장과 교사 모두 높은 점수를 보여 조력자의 자질과 역할의 중요성을 시사해준다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions and demand for assistance in guiding and supporting preparation procedures for kindergarten assessment at the national-level. The subjects of this study were 310 chief teachers and in-service teachers in Kindergartens at Ulsan, Busan, and Kyung-Nam. The findings of this study were as follows. First, the need of chief and in-service teacher s for assistance activities on kindergarten assessment at the national-level was rated highly. Among the kindergarten assessment areas- in which chiefs and in-service teachers expected to have lots of assistance was that of curriculum. Second, regarding their assistance activity needs -stage, frequency, person-in-charge, content, and operational style- most of the chiefs and in-service teachers hoped that the assistance activity would be provided until the assessment had been finished. Further, they hoped it would be provided whenever each kindergarten required it, and that assistance experts would visit each one to carry out diagnoses according to the assessment index(es), to provide them with proper information related to the assessment, and to supplement any weak areas in the assistance activity. Third, the chiefs were more aware than the in-service teachers of the importance of assistance of assistants quality. in particular, there was a significant difference in experts quality, the relative quality of assistants, and the emotional support role among the sub-areas. However, considering that the chief and in-service teachers gave a high rating to assistants quality and emotional support role, the quality and role of the assistants will require considerable discussion.
