국문 초록

미학교육에 대한 교육학적 논의를 학교개혁의 관점에서 전개하고자 하였다. 먼저 미학과 예술 그리고 교육의 그물적 관계 속에서 서구에서 학교개혁의 일환으로 진행되어온 미학교육의 다원화된 접근법을 소개함에 이어 우리나라에서 전개되는 예술과 미학교육에 대한 다양한 시선을 정리해 내고자 하였다. 무엇보다 관념상으로 머무르기 쉬운 학교개혁과 미학교육의 관계성에 대한 구체적 실천방안을 제시하기 위하여 예술적 감수성과 심미성이 가장 뛰어난 시기에 사는 유아기 미학교육의 핵심개념과 교수원리를 제안하고자 하였으며, 이를 통해 오늘날 미학교육은 교과로서 예술에 대한 논의를 넘어서 범교과적 성격을 가져야 한다는 점과, 모든 지식에 내재한 심미적 속성을 인식함으로써 교육이 과학만이 아닌 예술적 ․미적 속성을 가진다는 점을 부각시켜야 한다는 점을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

This study intends to introduce and discuss the various perspectives and discourses of aesthetic education as one of school reform. Aesthetic education, as a field of study of the arts in a school context, aims at more than just the arts. It pursuits a way of supporting students and teachers in recognizing their own voices, so they become an owners of the school curriculum. The arts make this possible by bringing them to hear their inner voices and inner sounds. At this point, the arts have become a means of school reform in helping schools with bottom up efforts to build new school culture. The arts in particular, which were merely seen as the practice of emotions and feelings from a traditional perspective, have now become a part of an extended view of cognition as they merge with other subject matters such as mathematics and science. This study emphasizes that aesthetic education which is not mere arts education, should be a preluder to school reform by seeing education as arts rather than science, students and teachers as owners of their knowledge construction, and the arts as a path of reaching toward a higher level of thinking.
