주관적 안녕감, 학업성취도, 수업난이도에 대한 태도가 수업형태 수용도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

2020년, 감염병의 전세계적 확산으로 인해 거의 모든 대학들이 응급원격수업을 진행하였다. 본 연구에서는 241명 대학생들의 원격수업의 선호도를 다양한 형태의 대면수업의 선호도와 비교하고, 응답자들의 주관적 안녕감, 학업성취도, 수업난이도에 대한 태도에 따라 수업형태 수용도와 향후 원격이수학점 상향 정책에 대한 수용도가 달라지는지를 검증하였다. 연구 결과, 플립드러닝, 토론 수업, 고급 세미나 등의 능동형 학습에 비해 원격수업은 대면 이론 강의와 함께 학생들이 가장 선호하는 형태의 수업이었다. 그러나 주관적 안녕감이 높은 학생들이 낮은 학생들에 비해 능동형 학습 수업들 -플립드러닝, 토론수업, 고급세미나-등을 상대적으로 더 선호하였다. 원격수업, 대면 이론 강의는 주관적 안녕감에 따른 선호도의 차이가 없었다. 학업성취도가 높을수록 플립드러닝 수업을 더 선호하였다. 교양수업은 쉬워야 된다는 태도를 가진 학생들은 원격수업을 더 선호하였으며, 이들은 원격수업으로 졸업 이수학점을 취득할 수 있는 제한이 상향 조정되어야 한다는 정책 역시 상대적으로 더 수용하였다. 고등교육의 디지털화는 코로나 이후에도 거스를 수 없는 흐름이 될 것이다. 그러나 원격수업을 더 선호하는 학생들이 상대적으로 안녕감이 낮고 수동형 학습을 선호하는 층이라면 정책을 실행할 때 주의가 요구된다. 이 연구는 포스트 코로나 시대에 원격수업의 활용과 교양 과정의 재편에 유용한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In 2020, majority of universities have conducted emergency remote teaching due to the global spread of COVID-19. Based on the responses of 241 college students, this research compared the preferences of remote classes with those of various types of the face-toface classes, and tested whether the preferences were influenced by college students’ subjective well-being, academic achievement and their attitude on liberal arts education. The remote classes were the most preferred form of learning along with the lecture based classes when comparing to others: the flipped learning class, debate/collaboration class, advanced seminar, and etc. Happier college students significantly preferred active learning classes such as flipped learning, debate, or advanced seminar than less happy students. No difference in preference was found in remote classes and the face-to-face lecture classes by students‘ subjective well-being. We also found that a positive linear relationship between the flipped learning preference and academic achievement. Students who favor easy classes preferred remote classes, and also relatively more accepted the policy that the credit limit increase for graduation through remote classes. The digitalization of higher education will be an irreversible trend even after COVID-19. However, a careful decision is required when implementing education digitalization if students who prefer remote learning are relatively low in well-being and prefer passive learning. This study can be used as useful evidence for the use of remote classes and reorganization of liberal arts courses in the post-corona era.
