예비기술교사를 위한 생명기술 교육프로그램의 개발과 효과

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 예비기술교사를 위한 생명기술 교육프로그램을 개발하고 이를 통한 예비기술교사들의 변화를 조사하는 것이다. 이 연구는 연구의 목적을 이루기 위해 문헌 연구, 개발 연구, 현장 투입 연구를 실시하였다. 예비기술교사를 위한 생명기술 교육프로그램은 준비, 개발, 개선의 3 단계를 통해 개발되었고 중부 지역에 있는 기술교사교육기관 중 한 곳에서 교육프로그램을 적용하였다. 기술교육에서 생명기술교육과 관련된 선행 연구를 검토함으로 예비기술교사들을 위한 생명기술 교육프로그램의 영역을 추출하였다. 그 영역은 생명기술의 기초, 식물분야에서의 생명기술, 동물분야에서의 생명기술, 의료 분야에서의 생명기술, 환경 및 에너지 분야에서의 생명기술, 생명기술의 영향과 윤리로 확정되었다. 이후 이 영역은 전문가 회의와 학생들의 피드백을 통해 보충되어 15주 강의로 결정되어 52명의 예비기술교사들에게 투입되었다. 개발된 생명기술 교육프로그램을 통해 예비기술교사들의 생명기술 관련 지식, 생명기술교육 관련 실천 능력, 그리고 생명기술교육 관련 기대-가치 인식은 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 구체적으로, 생명기술 관련 6개의 강의 영역에 있어서 예비기술교사들은 지식의 수준과 교육실천의 능력이 향상되었다. 또한 이 연구에서 예비기술교사들은 생명기술교육에 대한 중요성과 매력을 배우고 자신의 교육실천에 대한 믿음을 가지게 되었다. 이 연구를 통하여 생명기술과 관련된 교육 및 연수의 기회가 기술교사들에게 생명기술교육을 실천하게 하는 중요한 요소임을 확인하였다. 이 연구의 결과를 근거로 생명기술교육과 관련된 학생 활동중심의 교수법과 과정 중심의 평가 관련 연구의 후속 연구를 제언할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The goal of this study was to develop a biotechnology educational program for pre-service technology teachers and investigate pre-service technology teachers’ transitions through this developed program. To accomplish the research goal, this study performed literature research, developmental research, and field study. A developmental process of the preparation, development, and advancement was performed to develop an introductory biotechnology educational program and the developed program implemented at one of the technology teachers’ institutes. Based on the literature, foundation of biotechnology, plant biotechnology, animal biotechnology, medical biotechnology, environment and energy biotechnology, and bioethics were chosen for major learning components of the biotechnology educational program. And the leaning components were adjusted by the expert group meeting and students’ feedback and confirmed for a semester field study with 52 participants who enrolled in the pre-service technology teachers’ track. Pre-service technology teachers’ biotechnology related knowledge, biotechnology teaching ability, and expectancy and value of teaching biotechnology were significantly improved through the developed educational program. Concretely, their knowledge level and biotechnology teaching ability on six learning components was improved. Moreover, pre-service technology teachers perceived the significance and value toward teaching biotechnology and confirmed their beliefs toward teaching biotechnology in this study. This study confirmed that taking biotechnology programs could be a significant factor for sufficient implementation of biotechnology education. Also, based on the findings of this study, further studies such as students centered instruction and process based assessment were recommended.
