국문 초록

March(1991)가 처음 탐험과 활용의 개념을 제시한 이후, 조직 내에서 양손잡이 전략의 중요성이 강조됐다. 본 논문은 양손잡이 전략의 선행요인에 주목한 실증, 개념적 연구 및 리뷰 연구를 종합적으로 분석하고 미래 연구 방향을 제시하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 1991년부터 2025년 1월까지 국내⋅외 학술지 중 양손잡이 전략의 선행요인에 관해 연구한 62편의 논문을 분석하였다. 먼저 March(1991)가 제시한 탐험, 활용의 개념과 양손잡이 전략의 개념을 살펴보았으며, 이에 기반하여 양손잡이 전략의 선행요인을 실증적으로 분석한 연구를 체계적으로 분석하였다. 이 논문에서는 기존 연구에서 제시한 선행요인을 개인, 팀, 조직, 환경 요인으로 분류하여 어떤 연구들이 진행되었는지를 정리하였고, 이를 바탕으로 현재 연구를 확장할 수 있는 미래 연구 방향 제시하였다

영문 초록

This paper reviews the research on the antecedents of ambidextrous strategies and proposes directions for future studies. To achieve this, we conducted a systematic analysis of 62 studies published in prestigious academic journals between 1991, when March (1991) introduced the foundational concepts of exploration and exploitation, and January 2025. First, we revisited March’s original definitions and frameworks regarding exploration, exploitation, and ambidextrous strategies. Building on this foundation, we systematically examined studies that identified antecedents within four main categories: individual, team, organizational, and environmental factors. By assessing the current scope and limitations of the existing literature, we discuss potential avenues for future research to further enrich this field.
