잡가의 기러기 모티프 수용 양상과 그 의미

국문 초록

이 글은 주제사적 탐사의 일환으로 잡가에 나타난 기러기 모티프를 살펴보았다. 기러기 형상은 전체 5가지 모티프로 분류할 수 있었다. 그것은 소식을 전달하는 수단, 화자의 수심을 대변하는 역할, 소상팔경의 평사낙안 풍경, 기러기 모티프의 변주, 관습적으로 쓰였으나 작품에 어떠한 의미도 주지 못하는 경우였다. 우선 소식 전달의 모티프에서는 화자의 소식을 임에게 전달하는 경우에만 기러기의 등장과 함께 찬바람이 불어오는 늦가을의 계절이 활용되었다. 다음으로화자의 수심을 대변하는 모티프에서는 외기러기의 출현과 구슬피 우는 울음소리로 시적 화자의 수심을 증대시켰다. 마지막 소상팔경의 ‘평사낙안’ 모티프에서는갈대를 물고 점점이 날아들거나 행렬 지어 내려오는 기러기 떼가 등장한다. 이외에도 몇몇 잡가에서는 기러기가 제비를 타이르는 존재로 형상화되거나, 가고싶은 곳을 언제든 갈 수 있는 존재로 묘사되기도 하고, 제집을 잘 찾아가는 기러기가 등장하기도 했다. 본 논문에서는 고전시가에 등장하는 조류 가운데 기러기 모티프의 의미 변화를 어느 정도 포착할 수 있었다. 하지만 아직 분석되지 않은 조류 모티프들이 많이 남아있다. 문학작품에 반복적으로 출현하는 다른 조류 모티프와의 비교도 필요하다고 여겨진다.

영문 초록

As part of the subjective historical exploration, this article examined the wild goose motifs that appeared in Japga. The shape of the wild goose could be classified into five motifs in total. It was a means of conveying the news, a role representing the anxiety of the speaker, beautiful scenery of Eight places of suzhou and sanjiang, a variation of the geese motif, and a case that was conventionally used but did not give any meaning to the work. First of all, the season of late autumn, when the cold wind blows, along with the appearance of geese, was utilized only when the news was delivered to partner. Next, in the motif representing the anxiety of the speaker, the depth of the poetic speaker was increased with the appearance of a single geese and a roaring cry. In the last ‘Pyeongsanakan’ motif in the Sosang Eight Scenic Views, a group of geese with reeds appeared. In addition, some odd jobs have depicted the geese as swallows, as beings who can go anywhere they want to go, and featured geese who visit their homes well. In this paper, we were able to capture some of the changes in the meaning of geese motifs among the birds that appear in classical poetry. However, many bird motifs that have not yet been analyzed remain. It is also considered necessary to compare with other bird motifs that repeatedly appear in literary works.
