신라 왕경인의 복식에 대한 고고학적 자료와 그 특성

국문 초록

복식은 의복과 장신구를 함께 뜻한다. 이 글은 신라 왕경 사회에서 쓰인 복식의 고고학적 특성을 살필 목적으로 회화와 토제 인물상에 표현된 의복과 귀금속 장신구로 나눠 살폈다. 금령총의 기마 인물형 토기와 배 모양 토기의 뱃사공, 토우에 표현된 의복에는 신라 복식 문화의 위계성과제한성이 관찰된다. 일습을 갖춘 의복, 갖춤이 제한된 의복, 아예 의복이 생략된 신라 토제 인물상에서 복식의 차별성이 드러난다. 중국 회화 자료 중에는 이국인의 시선으로 표현된 신라인의 모습이 담겨있다. 공식외교 무대에 선 신라, 백제, 고구려 사신은 타인과 구별되는 나름의 의복을 착용했다. 각 나라 복식 문화의 고유성이 의복으로 발현된 것이다. 고고학 자료에서 찾은 신라 복식의 특성은 ‘신라 고유 양식의 발현’과 ‘외부 문화의 수용과 신라화’ 두 키워드로 압축된다. 수지형 금관과 금허리띠 장식에서 신라 복식의 독자성과 고유성이 드러난다. 귀걸이는 고구려, 백제 것을 수용하며 동시에 신라 독자적인 형식을 창안하는 과정을 보여준다. 특별히 망자를 위한 복식인 금동신발이 신라 사회에 유행한다. 4~6세기 신라 복식의 주축으로 쓰인 귀금속제 장신구는 6세기 중반을 넘기며 새로운 복식으로 달라진다. 누암리형과 황룡사형 허리띠 장식의 과도기를 넘어 당식 문화를 수용한 통일신라형 허리띠 장식으로 전환된다. 외래품을 수용하며 신라화시키는 과정이 황남동과 용강동 석실분 출토 토우에 재현된 복식에서 찾아진다.

영문 초록

Costumes mean clothes and accessories together. The costumes used in Silla society can also be seen from two aspects(clothing and accessories). This article was divided into two categories: Silla's clothing expressed in paintings and earthenware figures and Silla's precious metal ornaments. Hierarchy and limitations are observed in clothing expressed in Silla's Geumryeong-Tomb excavations and earthenware figures. Clothing with all kinds of clothes, limited clothes, and omitted clothes are revealed in the Silla earthenware figures. The image of Silla people who were active abroad is contained in Chinese painting materials. Silla, Baekje, and Goguryeo envoys on the official diplomatic stage wore their own clothing that distinguished them from others. Each country's own style was expressed in costumes culture. The characteristics of Silla's costumes are compressed into two keywords: ‘expression of Silla's own style’ and ‘acceptance and internalization of external culture’. The uniqueness of Silla's costumes is clearly revealed in the gold crown and gold belt ornaments. Earrings accommodate Goguryeo and Baekje, and at the same time, Silla's own form is created. In the process, gilt-bronze shoes, a special costume for the dead, are used in Silla society. ornaments of precious metal, which was used as the mainstay of Silla costume culture in the 4th and 6th centuries, changed into a new costume after the middle of the 6th century. It is converted into a unified Silla style belt ornaments that accommodates Tang culture. In addition, Baekje and Gaya style costume are especially found in the Unified Silla period.
