국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 만 2세의 흙놀이 기록을 바탕으로 부모와 교사의 교류를 통해 영아 발달의 변화의 의미를 질적으로 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 방법 경기도 Y시 P어린이집의 만 2세 14명을 대상으로 흙놀이를 운영하고, 담임교사 2명이 그 과정을 관찰·기록하였다. 이 기록은 부모와 공유되었으며, 흙놀이 과정을 교류하기 위해 면담, 설문, 스마트 알림장, 활동사진을 수집하였다. 수집된 자료를 토대로 부모와 교사가 인식한 영아의 변화를 질적으로 분석하였다. 결과 연구 결과 첫째, 부모와 교사는 영아가 흙놀이를 통해 배려적 사고를 경험하고, 표현 방식이 변화했다고 인식하였다. 둘째, 흙놀이의 감각적 경험이 영아의 심리적 건강성에 긍정적인 변화를 보였다고 인식하였다. 셋째, 부모와 교사는 영아의 흙놀이 맥락을 함께 해석하려는 시도를 보였다. 넷째, 부모는 흙놀이의 교육적 가능성을 인식하였고, 교사는 자신의 역할에 대한 관점을 재구성하는 변화를 경험하였다. 결론 본 연구는 교사와 부모가 영아의 흙놀이를 공동으로 해석하는 과정을 통해, 놀이가 영아 발달에 미치는 교육적 시사점을 제시하였다. 특히, 교사와 부모의 교류를 통해 자연 기반 놀이가 지닌 교육적·발달적 가치를 재조명했다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to qualitatively explore the meaning of developmental changes in infants by examining records of two-year-olds’ soil play, focusing on the interactions between parents and teachers. Methods Soil play activities were conducted with 14 two-year-old children at P daycare center in Y city, Gyeonggi Province. Two homeroom teachers observed and documented the process, and these records were shared with parents. To exchange perspectives on the infants’ soil play, interviews, surveys, mobile communication logs, and activity photographs were collected. Based on these data, the changes perceived by parents and teachers were qualitatively analyzed. Results First, parents and teachers perceived that infants experienced considerate thinking and changes in their modes of expression through soil play. Second, the sensory experiences of soil play were recognized as contributing positively to infants’ psychological well-being. Third, parents and teachers made joint attempts to interpret the context of infants’ soil play. Fourth, parents recognized the educational potential of soil play, while teachers experienced a shift in reconstructing their perspectives on their professional roles. Conclusions This study highlights the educational implications of infants’ developmental changes through the collaborative interpretation of soil play by teachers and parents. Notably, it reaffirms the educational and developmental value of nature-based play through parent-teacher interaction.
