112경찰과 지역경찰은 주민이 접수하는 112신고를 함께 처리하는데 그간 지역경찰에 대해서는 다수의 연구가 수행된 반면, 112경찰의 경우에는 연구가 매우 적어 연구의 공백이 있다. 그리하여 본 연구에서는 112경찰의 직무스트레스가 112경찰의 직무만족과 건강에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석하는 한편, 이러한 분석결과를 지역경찰과 비교하여 112경찰의 스트레스와 직무만족, 건강수준이 지역경찰에 비해 어떠한 정도인지 파악하고자 하였다. 분석결과, 112경찰은 지역경찰에 비해 전반적으로 직무스트레스가 높았으며 직무만족이 낮고 건강 이상증상을 더 많이 보유하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 112경찰과 지역경찰 집단의 직무만족과 직무스트레스의 차이는 통계적으로 유의하였다. 직무만족에 대한 직무스트레스의 영향을 분석한 결과, 열악한 조직관리 및 근무환경, 부족한 사회적지지, 신고대응 업무와 관련된 스트레스가 높을수록 직무만족이 감소하였는데 지역경찰에 비해 112경찰에서는 열악한 조직관리와 근무환경으로 인한 직무스트레스가 직무만족에 더 큰 영향을 준 차이가 있었다. 건강에 대한 직무스트레스의 영향을 분석한 결과, 열악한 조직관리 및 근무환경과 부족한 사회적 지지로 인한 스트레스가 높을수록 건강이상 증상이 증가하였는데 지역경찰에 비해 112경찰관의 경우 역할모호성과 관련된 스트레스가 높을수록 건강이상 증상이 증가하는 차이가 발견되었다. 이러한 분석결과를 통해 112경찰의 직무만족 향상을 위해서는 열악한 조직관리 및 근무환경, 사회적지지, 신고대응 측면과 관련된 스트레스를 감소하기 위한 관리적 노력이 필요하며, 112경찰의 건강수준 향상을 위해서는 역할모호성을 줄일 수 있는 방안에 관한 적극적인 검토와 스트레스 감소를 위한 심리상담 프로그램의 활성화가 필요하다는 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

Though 112 police officers and patrol officers both handle 112 reports received by residents, there have been very few studies conducted regarding 112 police officers compared with patrol officers. To fill the gap of literature, this study analyzed the effects of occupational stress upon job satisfaction and health of 112 police officers and compared the results with those of patrol officers. The results showed that 112 police officers showed higher occupational stress and lower job satisfaction than patrol officers. Also 112 police officers had more health symptom including indigestion and insomnia than patrol officers. In addition, the differences regarding job satisfaction and occupational stress between 112 police officers and patrol officers were statistically significant. Regarding factors affecting job satisfaction, stressors related to poor organizational management and working environment, lack of social support, and emergency calls response were negatively associated with job satisfaction. In comparison with the patrol officers, occupational stress due to poor organizational management and working environment had a greater effect on job satisfaction in 112 police officers. Regarding factors affecting health, stressors related to poor organizational management and working environment as well as lack of social support affected health symptom of police officers. On the contrary to the patrol officers, occupational stress due to role ambiguity had a effect on health in 112 police officers. Based on the results, Korean national police agency should make administrative efforts such as psychological counseling program in police trauma center to reduce occupational stress and improve job satisfaction and health of 112 police officers.
