개인구원을 넘어 사회적 칭의론을 향하여 - 구원론의 지평 확대

국문 초록

사회적 칭의론은 개인구원의 한계를 극복하여 구원의 사회적 차원을 모색하면서 구원을 사회속에 실재화려는 구원론이다. 그러나 개인구원과 인격적 구원을 주장하는 이들은 유일한 기독교적 구원은 예수 그리스도에 대한 개인의 믿음과 인격적인 고백을 통해서만 가능하다고 주장하면서 사회적 칭의론이 종교개혁적 개신교 칭의론에서 이탈하고 있다고 비판한다. 이 논문은 협소한 개인구원을 극복하기 위해서는 구원론의 지평을 확대하는 것이 필요하며, 이를 위해 개인구원을 넘어 역사구원과 실물구원, 그리고 사회구원을 소개하고 있다. 그리스도의 십자가를 통해 성취된 속죄는 단지 개인의 영혼구원이나 내세천국을 목표로 하는 것이 아니라 악에 대한 그리스도의 승리이다. 그리스도의 구속은 죄사함을 통한 개인의 구원만이 아니라 타락한 일터와 경제질서의 구속이며, 죄된 문화의 구속이며, 구조악에 물든 세상을 구속하여, 궁극적으로 사회의 구속으로 나아가며, 뒤틀린 창조세계를 변혁하는 새창조의 구원이다. 이러한 사회구원의 지평을 톰 라이트와 몰트만, 그리고 신칼빈주의에 근거한 기독교세계관, 크리스토퍼 라이트의 선교신학, 해방신학이 보여주고 있다. 이제 기독교 구원은 개인구원의 협소함을 넘어 구원의 지평을 역사와 사회, 그리고 인간의 삶과 관련한 모든 실물적 대상에 이르기까지, 또한 창조세계 전체를 포괄하는 구원을 향해 나가야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Social justification is a soteriology that seeks to overcome the limitations of individual salvation and to realize salvation in society by seeking the social dimension of salvation. However, those who advocate individual salvation and personal salvation criticize that social justification is deviating from the Protestant justification theory of the Reformation, claiming that the only Christian salvation is possible only through an individual’s faith in Jesus Christ and personal confession. This paper argues that in order to overcome the narrow individual salvation, it is necessary to expand the horizon of soteriology, and to this end, it introduces historical salvation, material salvation, and social salvation beyond individual salvation. The atonement achieved through the cross of Christ is not simply aimed at the salvation of an individual’s soul or the afterlife, but is Christ’s victory over evil. Christ’s redemption is not only the salvation of an individual through forgiveness of sins, but also the redemption of a corrupt workplace and economic order, the redemption of a sinful culture, the redemption of a world stained with structural evil, ultimately advancing to the redemption of society, and the salvation of a new creation that transforms the distorted creature. The horizon of this social salvation is shown by Tom Wright, Moltmann, and the Christian worldview based on neo-Calvinism, the mission theology of Christopher Wright, and the liberation theology. Now, Christian salvation must go beyond the narrowness of individual salvation and expand the horizon of salvation to all material objects related to history, society, and human life, and also to salvation that encompasses the entire created world.
