The most special speech Lu Xun gave in his life was to go to the summer school of Northwest University in the summer of 1924, which had just been established. The lecture, which lasted more than half a month, was titled “The Historical Changes of the Chinese Novel”. The reason why he did not choose other topics to give lectures to the students of Shaanxi and the soldiers, but chose the history of ancient Chinese novels alone, is that Lu Xun first positioned himself precisely not as a writer, but as an educator. Educators must first plan the purpose of education before starting their educational activities. The educational character of this speech on the west trip is in line with the work of Lu Xun in the “second silent period” at that time, that is, to “sink into the people”, “go back to the ancient times”, “return to history, open the horizon, in the practice of reading history, treating history and translating, endure and wait...” . He trained himself in this way, and so did the education he brought, the speech. To reveal the philosophical education of his 1924 Xi’an lecture tour is not only a new discovery of the value of Lu Xun’s visit, but also a new understanding of the cultural and educational characteristics of Xi’an, which was once the ancient Chang’an.

영문 초록

鲁迅一生所做演讲,最为特殊的要算1924 年夏天前往那时刚刚建校不久的西北大学的暑期学校,这次前往西行的讲演历时半个多月,所讲题目为“中国小说的历史的变迁”。没有选其他主题来给三秦学子以及讲武堂官兵做演讲,而是独独选了中国古小说史来讲,原因是鲁迅首先将自身定位的恰恰不是一个文学家,而是教育者。教育者在开始其教育活动之前必先设想教育目的,而这次西行演讲所具有的哲思教育性,符合鲁迅当时所处于的“第二沉默期”上手之活,那就是“沉入于国民中”,“回到古代去”,“重返历史,打开视野,在读史、治史和翻译的实践中,忍耐、等待……”。他自身如此历练自己,他带来的教育即演讲也是如此。揭示其1924 年西安演讲之行的哲思教育性,不仅是对鲁迅此行之价值的重新发现,同时也是对曾为古长安的今日之西安的文化教育特性的新认识。
