국문 초록

Purpose : This study aimed to identify the impact of nursing students’ knowledge of advance directives and their perception of a good death on their attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment. Method : Participants were undergraduate nursing students enrolled in five nursing schools in Province J. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from May 29 to June 20, 2024. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 23.0 to identify influencing factors. Results : The factors affecting attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment were, in order of significance, perception of a good death (β＝.41, p＜.001), knowledge of advance directives (β＝.38, p＜.001), and grade(4th) (β＝.14, p＝.023). Conclusion : To foster a positive attitude among nursing students toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment, it is essential to develop and implement various communication-based programs that enhance knowledge of advance directives and perception of a good death. Additionally, it is necessary to expand the training period.
