국문 초록

Purpose : This study aimed to determine the psychological well-being of nursing students, confirm the correlation between emotional intelligence and communication skills, and analyze the impact of these factors on the psychological well-being of nursing students. Method : Data were collected from 140 nursing students from January to February, 2023. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe’s test, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/Win 24.0 program. Results : The mean scores of emotional intelligence was 3.72±0.52(out of 5), communication skills was 3.85±0.48(out of 5) and psychological well-being was 3.49±0.52(out of 5). There were a significant positive correlation between psychological well-being and emotional intelligence(r＝.70, p＜.001), communication skills(r＝.68, p＜.001). Factors affecting psychological well-being were emotional intelligence(β＝.44, p＜.001) and communication skills(β＝.34, p＜.001), which explained about 53.0% of psychological well-being. Conclusion : Emotional intelligence and communication skills were factors affecting psychological well-being among nursing students. Therefore, to enhance the psychological well-being of nursing students, we propose developing strategies and educational programs that can increase emotional intelligence and communication skills.
