DSM-5 개정 이후 ASD 아동 대상 국내외 음악 중재 연구 동향

국문 초록

2013년 DSM-5의 개정과 2020년 COVID-19 팬데믹은 자폐스펙트럼장애(ASD) 진단 및 중재 환경에 큰 전환점을 가져왔으며, 이에 따라 ASD 아동을 위한 음악 중재 연구 역시 새로운 접근을 요구받고 있다. 본 연구는 최근 10년간 국내외 ASD 아동을 대상으로 한 음악 중재 연구의 동향을 파악하고, 환경적 변화 및 접근 방식의 전환이 ASD 아동 대상 음악 중재에 어떻게 반영되었는지 분석하고자 하였다. 연구자는 국내외 학술지 및 학위 논문 67편을 선정하여, 연구의 전반적 특성, 환경적 요인, 대상자 범위, 방법론적 특징 등을 중심으로 시기별 변화의 특징을 비교ㆍ분석하였다. 분석 결과, 2021년 이후 비대면 치료의 비중은 증가했으나 전체 사례에서 차지하는 비율은 여전히 낮았으며, 특히 활동 유형에서 노래부르기의 증가, 악기연주의 제한 등과 같은 특징을 확인할 수 있었다. 대상자 범위에서는 가족 중심으로의 확장이 두드러졌고, 가족 중심의 중재 목표에서는 개인적 사회기술 향상보다 관계 형성 및 상호작용을 중시하는 경향이 나타났다. 또한 최근 10년간 신경과학측정 방법을 활용한 연구는 아직 적지만 점차 확대되는 추세를 보였다. 본 연구는 음악 중재 연구의 시의적 변화를 보다 정확히 이해하고, 향후 연구에서 적절한 접근 방안을 모색하는 데 기초 자료를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Major turning points, such as the 2013 DSM-5 revision and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, have significantly impacted ASD diagnosis and intervention environments, prompting the need for new approaches. This study aimed to examine recent trends in music intervention research for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) over the past decade, both in Korea and internationally. It analyzed how environmental changes and shifts in intervention approaches have influenced these studies. A total of 67 studies, including journal articles and dissertations, were selected for comparative analysis based on research characteristics, environmental factors, target populations, and methodological features. The analysis showed an increase in remote therapy after 2021, though it remains a small portion of all cases. There was a rise in singing activities and a reduction in instrumental use. The scope of participants expanded toward family-centered approaches. In terms of goals of family-centered interventions, there was a shift toward prioritizing relationship-building and interaction over individual social skill enhancement. Although the use of neuroscientific measurement tools is still limited, their application is gradually increasing. This study offers foundational insights into the evolving landscape of music intervention research and provides direction for future studies.
