1970년대 남북한 영화 속 안중근 재현 양상 비교 연구: <의사 안중근>, <안중근 이등박문을 쏘다>를 중심으로

국문 초록

1960년대 후반기, 미국과 소련을 중심으로 전개된 냉전체제의 후퇴와 긴장완화 정책으로부터 남북한 정권은 내부적으로 자신들의 권력구조와 체제 이데올로기를 강화하기 위해 영화를 수단으로 이용하였다. 이에 따라 영화계에서도 새로운 영화 정책과이론이 등장하게 되었다. 남한에서 박정희 정권이 장기 집권 체제를 구축하는 과정가운데 국민총화를 통한 민족주의의 강화라는 목표가 제4차 개정 영화법을 통한 우수영화제도 등을 통한 국책영화 제작으로 실천되었으며, 북한에서는 『영화예술론』과 같은 주체 문예이론의 체계화가 이루어졌다. 이러한 변화하는 시대적 흐름 속에서 안중근을 재현한 영화가 남북한에서 각각 제작되었다. 하지만, 비슷한 시기에 동일한 인물을 재현한 작품임에도 불구하고 남북한의 작품들에서 상이한 특징이 나타나고 있다. <의사 안중근>에는 유신 체제가 수립되면서 강화된 민족 총화의 강조가 애국애족 정신을 가진 의병들을 통해 국난 극복의 길이 ‘오직 우리 자신의 힘’에 있음을 묘사하면서 국민의 총화 된 단결을 통해 나타나고 있으며, <안중근 이등박문을 쏘다>는 김일성 유일체제의 구축 과정에서 안중근의 의거가 미완의 투쟁으로 규정된 까닭을 이른바 올바른 지도 사상이 부재했다는 관점에서 기인한 것으로 해석하고 있다. 이를 통해 이 연구는 하나의 역사를 공유하고 있음에도 동일한 인물이 영화 속에서 다르게묘사되는 양상을 분단이라는 특수한 상황과 시대적 흐름 속에서 발견하고자 하였다. 또한, 남북한에서 제작된 안중근 재현 영화 속에 나타난 내용과 형식의 차이가 존재할지라도 영화가 1970년대 남북한 권력자들의 권력 강화의 수단으로 이용되었다는점에서 영화라는 매체가 가진 기능과 효과를 살펴보고자 한다.

영문 초록

In the late 1960s, as the détente and the end of the US&USSR-competed cold war has neared its end, Korean governments, both North Korea and South Korea, have used movie as a way of strengthening their systems of ruling and ideologies. In South Korea, during President Park Chung-hee’s process of creating long-term ruling system, unification and nationalization of national identity have been enforced under the 4th-revised film act’s excellent-film system, which was one of the systems that produced national-funded films. Meanwhile, in North Korea, systemization of Chu-Che theory, such as the Film Art Theory, has been accomplished. In those changing trends of the age, films revisiting Ahn Jung-geun’s story have each been created in North and South Korea. Despite both pieces dealing with the same historical figure of the similar periods, the films of North Korea and South Korea, each appears to show distinct characteristics. In “Uisa Ahn Jung-geun”, emphasis on the idea of unifiying the nation, which was strngtened by the established of Yoo-Shin administration, has been shown by the description of partiotist-spirited voluntary soldiers overcoming nation crisis with “the power of our own.” While, in the process of establishing Kim ill-sung as the sole ruling power, “Jeung Geun Ahn shoot Itou Hirobumi” shows an perspective of interpreting An Jung-Gun’s heroic attempt as failure mainly for that fact that the attempt lacked the right idea of leadership. With what is described above, this paper attempts to show the case of the same historical figure from the same facet of history having tendency of being described differently in a special situation of a divided nation and stream of changes. Even though contents of An Jung-geun reproduction films, each produced by North and South Korea, differed in the 1970s, both films have been used as powerholders’ ways of strengthening their power, therefore, this paper, in addition, tries to identify the medium of film as an impact and/or function.
