과학영재가 친구와 함께 하는 학습몰입의 경험에 나타난 심리사회적 기술의 특징에 대한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 과학영재가 친구와 함께 경험한 학습몰입의 상황에서 나타난 심리사회적 기술의 특징을 탐색하고 이에 근거하여 학습몰입을 설명하는 이론을 제안하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 A과학영재학교에 재학중인 과학영재 4명을 연구대상으로 선정하고, 2021년 12월부터 2023년 12월까지 2년 동안 반구조화 심층면담을 총 6회에 걸쳐 진행하였다. 수집한 질적 자료는 근거이론 연구방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 과학영재가 친구와 함께 경험한 학습몰입의 상황을 개방 코딩으로 분석하여 50개의 개념과 24개의 하위범주, 9개의 범주를 추출하였다. 둘째, ‘과학영재의 특성’의 인과적 조건에서 과학영재들은 ‘친구와 함께 하는 학습몰입 상황’이라는 중심현상을 경험하였고, 이 중심현상은 ‘교내외 교과 및 비교과 활동’의 맥락적 요소에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 중재적 상황에는 ‘학습몰입이 일어나는 조건’이 있었고, 과학영재는 작용/상호작용에서 ‘동기에 따른 자기조절’, ‘창의적 위험 감수’, ‘메타인지적 자기조절’, ‘감정적 자기조절’, ‘사회적 관계’의 5가지 심리사회적 기술을 활용하였다. 그 결과, ‘청소년기에 탁월한 성취’를 거두는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 핵심범주와 다른 범주들을 연결지어 ‘과학영재들이 친구와 함께 경험한 학습몰입의 상황과 이 상황에서 그들이 심리사회적 기술을 내면화시켜 청소년기에 탁월한 성취를 이루어 가는 과정’의 이야기 줄거리를 작성하였다.

영문 초록

The study aimed to explore the characteristics of psychosocial skills shown in the experience of science gifted students‘ learning immersion with friends and propose a theory explaining learning immersion based on this. To this end, four science gifted students at A science gifted high school were selected and semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted six times from 2021 to 2023. The qualitative data were analyzed employing a grounded theory research method. As a result, first, 50 concepts, 24 sub-categories, and 9 categories were extracted from open coding analysis. Second, under the causal conditions of ‘characteristics of science gifted students,’ they experienced the central phenomenon of ‘learning immersion situation with friends,’ and this central phenomenon was found to be influenced by the contextual factors of ‘curricular and non-curricular activities of in and out of school.’ In the intervention situation, there was a ‘condition for learning immersion’, and they utilized five psychosocial skills in the action/ interaction of ‘self-regulation based on motivation’, ‘creative risk taking’, ‘meta cognitive self-regulation’, ‘emotional self-regulation’, and ‘social relationships’. As an output, it was found that they achieved ‘excellent product in adolescence’. Third, by connecting the core category with other categories, it was created a story outline of ‘the situation of science gifted students’ learning immersion with friends and the process in which they internalize psychosocial skills in this situation and achieve excellent product during adolescence.
