국문 초록

17세기 헝가리는 오스만 제국과 합스부르크 제국 사이에 끼인 복잡한 정치적, 사회적 환경 속에서 큰 변화를 겪고 있었다. 이 혼란 속에서 교육 시스템은 심각한 위기에 직면했으나, 트란실바니아 공국은 이러한 위기를 기회로 삼아 독자적인 교육 혁신을 이룩했다. 트란실바니아는 정치적 독립성과 자치를 바탕으로 한 독특한 역사적 특징을 지니고 있었고, 이러한 배경에서 이루어진 교육 개혁은 헝가리와 주변 지역에 지속적인 영향을 미쳤다. 말하자면, 17세기 헝가리의 정치적, 사회적 격변 속에서 트란실바니아 공국이 이루어낸 교육 혁신은 단순한 제도적 변화에 그치지 않고, 헝가리와 중부 유럽 전체에 깊고 오래된 영향을 미쳤던 것이다. 오스만 제국과 합스부르크 제국의 압력 속에서도 정치적 독립성과 자치를 유지한 트란실바니아는 교육 분야에서 독창적이고 진보적인 개혁을 통해 지역 사회의 지적, 문화적 발전을 촉진하였다. 이 연구를 통해 우리는 17세기 헝가리의 교육 혁신이 단지 위기 극복을 위한 임시방편이 아니라, 지속 가능한 발전을 위한 근본적인 변화였음을 알 수 있다. 트란실바니아의 사례는 오늘날의 교육 시스템에도 중요한 시사점을 제공하고 있다. 정치적, 사회적 불안정 속에서도 교육의 중요성을 잃지 않고, 혁신을 통해 새로운 길을 모색하는 것이 얼마나 중요한지 보여준다. 결론적으로, 트란실바니아의 교육 개혁은 17세기 헝가리의 역사에서 중요한 전환점이자, 현대 교육의 방향성을 고민하는 데 있어 귀중한 교훈을 제공한다. 이를 통해 우리는 교육이 사회 발전의 핵심 요소임을 재확인할 수 있으며, 미래의 교육 정책 수립에 있어 역사적 통찰을 바탕으로 한 혁신이 필요함을 깨닫게 된다.

영문 초록

In the 17th century, Hungary was undergoing significant changes amidst a complex political and social environment. It was caught between the Ottoman Empire and the Habsburg Empire. The education system was thrust into crisis amidst this turmoil. However, the Principality of Transylvania seized this opportunity to achieve its own educational innovations. Transylvania, with its unique historical characteristics of political independence and autonomy, implemented educational reforms that had a lasting impact on Hungary and the surrounding regions. The educational innovations achieved by the Principality of Transylvania during the political and social upheavals of 17th-century Hungary were not just institutional changes. They had profound and enduring influences on Hungary and Central Europe as a whole. Despite the pressures from the Ottoman and Habsburg Empires, Transylvania maintained political independence and autonomy. It did this by implementing creative and progressive reforms in the field of education, which promoted the intellectual and cultural development of the local community. This study shows that the educational innovations of 17th-century Hungary were not just temporary measures to overcome crises. They were fundamental changes aimed at sustainable development. The case of Transylvania provides crucial insights for today’s education systems. It proves the vital importance of education and the need of seek new paths through innovation, even in the face of political and social instability. In conclusion, the educational reforms of Transylvania were a crucial turning point in the history of 17th-century Hungary and offer valuable lessons for modern education. This reaffirms that education is a key element of social development and underscores the need for innovation based on historical insights in formulating future educational policies.
