결혼이민자 취업을 위한 다문화가족지원센터의 역할

국문 초록

다문화가족지원센터는 다문화가족지원정책의 대표적인 사례로서 그동안 전국 각 지역에 설립되어 가장 가까이에서 결혼이민자를 위한 서비스를 제공해왔으며, 결혼이민자의 초기 부적응 문제를 완화하는데큰 역할을 했다. 하지만 다문화가족지원센터를 이용하는 주 대상인 결혼이민자들은 취업을 통한 사회 진출을 원하고 있지만 현재 다문화가족지원센터에서 이루어지고 있는 프로그램은 한국사회 적응과 지역사회 정착을 위한 한국어 교육 프로그램과 문화적응 프로그램, 다문화가정 화합 프로그램 등에만 연구가 그치고 있는 실정이었다. 이에 본 연구는 결혼이민자들이 경제적으로 안정될 수 있는 사회 진출을 위해 결혼이민자를 위한 대표적 교육기관이라 할 수 있는 다문화가족지원센터의 현재 프로그램 운연 현황과 문제점들을 살펴보고, 다문화가족지원센터가 결혼이민자 취업을 위해 앞으로 어떤 역할을 해야하며, 어떤 프로그램이 개발·운영되어야 하는지에 대한 대안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

As a typical case of the policies on supporting multi-cultural families, the multi-cultural family support centers have been established at the local level throughout the country, provided service for marriage immigrants at the nearest place, and played a crucial role in relieving their problem of maladjustment at the initial stage. However, while marriage immigrants, or principal users of the centers wanted to participate in society by getting a job, the current programs the centers provided were confined to Korean language education programs, acculturation programs, and multi-cultural family harmony programs so that they could adapt themselves to the South Korean society and settle themselves in a community. This study aimed to analyze the status and problems of program operation in the multi-cultural family support centers, which could be typical educational institutions for marriage immigrants, and to indicate what roles the centers needed to play in helping marriage immigrants get a job and what programs needed to be developed and operated so that marriage immigrants could participate in society in pursuit of financial stability
