매체 효능감과 실재감이 실시간 온라인 한국학 강좌 수강 만족도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

해외 대학으로부터 다양한 한국학 강좌 개설에 대한 요구가 점진적으로 증가하고 있지만 전문가 수급의 어려움으로 인해 다양한 한국학 강좌가 해외에서 개설되기는 쉽지 않다. 이에 대한 대안으로 실시간 온라인 강좌가 활용될 수 있는데 이를 위해서는 그 효용성이 검증될 필요가 있었다. 이에 본 연구는 실시간 온라인 강좌에 영향을 끼치는 요인으로 밝혀진 매체 효능감과 실재감이 수강 만족도에 어떠한 영향을 끼치는지 조사하였다. 이에 따른 연구 문제는 두 가지였다. 첫째, 수강생의 매체 효능감은 실시간 온라인 한국학 강좌 수강 만족도와 상관성이 있는가? 둘째, 수강생의 실재감(교수 실재감, 사회적 실재감, 인지적 실재감)은 실시간 온라인 한국학 강좌 수강 만족도와 상관성이 있는가? 이를 위해 e스쿨 프로그램에 참여 중인 수강생 56명을 대상으로 설문조사 실시하였고, Pearson의 상관분석과 회귀분석을 사용하여 통계 검증하였다. 그 결과, 실시간 온라인 강좌에서 매체 효능감과 실재감 두 가지 모두 강의 만족도에 유의미한 영향을 끼쳤다. 실재감 중에서는 인지적 실재감이 강의 만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 끼치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이를 통해 실시간 온라인 강좌의 효용성을 확인할 수 있었고, 한국학 강의의 점진적인 전문화와 발전을 위한 개선 방향 또한 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The demand for Korean studies courses encompassing politics, business, society, culture, and literature is increasing steadily. However, there are difficulties in offering these courses due to an insufficient supply of subject-matter experts. A real-time online course can be a solution to this issue, but its effectiveness must be verified in advance. This study investigates how the two factors that have a proven impact on online courses—media efficacy and the feeling of presence—affect the satisfaction level of students. Two research agendas were put forward. First, does the media efficacy felt by students correlate to their level of satisfaction with Korean studies in online courses? Second, does the feeling of presence felt by students (the presence of teachers, social presence, and perceptional presence) correlate to their level of satisfaction with Korean studies in online courses? To examine these factors, I conducted a survey with 56 students who are participating in an e-school program; the survey results were statistically verified through Pearson correlation and linear regression analyses. The results showed that both media efficacy and the feeling of presence had a significant effect on the satisfaction level of the students in the course. Among the feelings of presence, perceptional presence had the most significant effect on students’ satisfaction levels. As both media efficacy and the feeling of presence affect satisfaction levels, real-time online courses should reflect these factors in their establishment and operation. By doing so, such courses can contribute to the professional and academic development of Korean studies.
