영국과 조선 사신이 기록한 중국 연희 내용 비교

국문 초록

본고는 조선과 영국 사신이 기록한 청나라 연희 내용을 연구 대상으로 하여 우선 양국 연희 기록의 언어와 편폭, 구성원과 장소, 시간적 특징을 비교하였다. 그다음으로 한 국가에서 사신 문헌의 내부 관계와 타국의 사신에 의해 작성된 중국 연희 관련 문헌 간의 관계를 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 비교문학 형상학 이론을 토대로 전이해가 사신의 연희 이해 수준과 관람 태도에 미치는 영향을 검토하고, 그 문학 기록의 가치를 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 본고는 사신 문헌을 기반으로 중국 사료에서 고증하기 어려운 지점을 보완하여 각국의 고유한 문화 전통은 물론 중국에 대한 정치 이념을 고찰하는 데에 기여하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This article analyzes the records of Chinese operas written by envoys from Chosŏn, Britain during their visits to China in the Qing Dynasty. This article compares the similarities and differences not only in the language and length but also in their observations of the members, place and time. Secondly, the article examines the internal connections within various envoys’ documents as well as their relations to documents from other countries in Chinese operas. Finally, drawing on relevant theories of comparative literature in image studies, the article explores the impact of their pre-existing understandings on their ways of watching, such as the level of knowledge and their attitudes towards watching operas, and further points out the value of these literary records. By studying these literary records, the article contributes to using envoys’ documents to supplement the shortcomings of Chinese historical materials and reflect the cultural traditions of various countries, including their political ideas towards China.
