국문 초록

한자어 교육은 한국어 학습자의 어휘력 신장에 큰 역할을 할 수 있다. 그러나 기존 한자 관련 한국어 교재들은 한자 학습에 초점을 두고 한자의 형태를 익히는 것을 중시하여 어휘력 확장으로 이어지지 못했다. 한국어 학습자에게 있어 한자 학습의 궁극적인 목표는 조어력을 활용한 어휘력 신장에 있다. 이에 한자를 통해 어휘력을 향상시킬 수 있는 교재를 개발하고자 하였다. 학습 목표가 한자 학습이 아닌 어휘력 신장에 있으므로 비한자권 학습자뿐만 아니라 한자권 학습자들도 그 대상으로 삼았다. 교재는 사전과 학습서 형식으로 구성하였다. 사전에는 최대한 다양한 어휘를 수록하고자 하였고, 학습서에는 이렇게 제시된 한자의 수준별 주제별 연습이 가능하도록 하였다. 어휘 제시나 학습 방법은 조어력을 최대한 활용할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 본 연구는 한국어 학습자에게 어휘를 교육함에 있어 한자를 적극 활용할 수 있는 교육 방법을 보여 주었다는 데 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

영문 초록

Sino-Korean education can play an important role for the enrichment of vocabulary of the learners of Korean language. However, the existing Korean textbooks related to Sino-Korean words focus on the learning of Sino-Korean words and emphasize the acquisition of their shapes, so they have failed to help learners to increase their vocabulary. The ultimate purpose for the learners of Korean to learn Sino-Korean words is to enlarge their vocabulary through the ability to form words. Therefore, the textbook to help increase vocabulary through Sino-Korean words needed to be developed. As the learning goal is not the acquisition of Sino-Korean words but the enrichment of vocabulary, Chinese-letter-based Korean learners as well as those from the regions without Chinese letters also became the target of the research. The textbook consisted of a dictionary and study materials. In the dictionary, a variety of words and expressions were to be included as many as possible, and the study materials were developed to help practice the presented Sino-Korean words depending on their levels and topics. The words and the learning methods were given in the way to encourage learners to make the maximum use of their ability to form words. This study is meaningful in that it has suggested the educational methods to utilize Sino-Korean words actively when teaching learners Korean vocabulary.
