국문 초록

본 연구는 베트남 영화 <그린 파파야 향기>를 한국어로 번역할 때 베트남인 한국어 중급 학습자가 겪는 언어적-문화적 어려움을 밝히고, 그들의 베트남어-한국어 번역 능력 향상을 위한 교육 방안 및 교육 내용을 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 베트남A대학교 <통번역이론> 수강생 95명을 대상으로 번역 활동을 실행한 후 결과물을 수집 분석하고, 그중 5명의 학습자를 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 번역 양상을 분석한 결과 베트남인 학습자의 베-한 번역 문제점은 구어체와 문어체의 혼동, 화자와 청자 간의 호칭어-지칭어 혼동, 다의어 관련 대응어 선택 문제점, 한국어 경어법 오류, 시대적 사회 문제에 대한 인식 문제, 사회-정서 감수성 차이가 드러났다. 이 결과에 근거하여 학습자의 번역 결과물과 전문가의 영화 자막 번역본을 비교하게 하는 번역 교수법을 활용함으로써 학습자의 베-한 번역 능력 향상을 도모하고, 베트남의 사회.문화적 맥락 관련 배경지식을 넓히는 교육을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The objective of this study is to illuminate the linguistic and cultural challenges encountered by Vietnamese intermediate learners of Korean during the translation of the Vietnamese film into Korean. Additionally, the study aims to suggest educational strategies to enhance the Vietnamese-Korean translation skills of these learners. Employing an innovative translation teaching approach, the first step involves analyzing the learner’s translation patterns, while the second step entails comparing the learner’s translations with those of experts who have translated movie subtitles. The primary focus is on augmenting the learner’s translation proficiency and fostering self-directed learning capabilities. The findings of the study highlight several difficulties faced by Vietnamese learners in translating from Vietnamese to Korean. These challenges include confusion between spoken and written language, ambiguity in distinguishing addressants and referents among speakers and listeners, difficulties in selecting appropriate words in the context of polysemy, errors in utilizing Korean honorifics, challenges in recognizing contemporary social issues, and variations in socio-emotional sensitivity. These patterns were identified through the research process. Consequently, drawing on the outcomes of participant perception surveys and in-depth interviews, comprehensive contents are proposed from both linguistic and socio-cultural perspectives to address the identified issues.
