탈제도화된 가족과 대중의 감정 구조

국문 초록

본 고는 1960년대 초반의 홈 멜로드라마의 ‘가족’이 건전하고 명랑한 모랄을 제시하면서 박정희 정권의 근대화 프로젝트에 부응하는 대중 문화적가치를 재현하는 코드였던 반면, 1960년대 중후반 통속 멜로드라마에 재현된 가족은 가족의 파괴와 위반을 통해 정권의 근대화 과정에서 파생된 대중들의 감정적 피로와 좌절을 조절하고 이완한다는 점을 규명하고자 했다. 1960년대 중후반 통속 멜로드라마에 재현된 중산층의 화려하고 완벽한 가족은 과거의 가난했던 시절 사랑했던 사람의 출현 혹은 6.25와 같은 역사적경험의 지속적인 현재의 소급으로 말미암아 파괴되고 균열되는 양상을 보인다. 현재의 화려하고 완벽한 가족은 경제적 근대화를 통해 추구하고자 했던 이상화된 중산층 가족 모델이다. 이러한 화려한 현재는 과거의 가난하고아픈 과거의 형상으로 균열되고 파괴된다. 이러한 양상은 경제적 풍요와 건전하고 명랑한 정신적 발전을 요구한 정권의 정책과는 부응하지 않았다. 영화는 정권의 정책과 요구를 수용하면서도 대중들의 요구, 즉 경제적 근대화를 따라가지 못하는 현실의 가난한 삶 혹은 청산되지 못한 역사적 아픔을영화에 반영했다. 이것이 곧 1960년대 중후반 통속 멜로드라마의 가족 서사가 균열과 파괴의 양상으로 나타나게 된 원인이라고 할 수 있다. 따라서1960년대 중후반 통속 멜로드라마에 재현된 탈제도화된 가족은 대중들의근대화에 대한 감정적 피로와 좌절을 조절하고 이완하는 중요한 기능을 담당했다.

영문 초록

This study aims at figuring out while ‘family’ in home melodrama in the early 1960’s was a code to represent popular cultural values to correspond to the modernization project under President Pack Chung He’s regime, suggesting sound and bright morality, family represented in popular melodramas in the mid-and-late 1960’s adjusted and alleviated people’s emotional stress and frustration derived from the regime’s modernization process through destruction and infringement of family. Splendid and perfect family of middle class represented in popular melodramas in the mid-and-late 1960’s seemed to be destroyed and cracked because of retrospective present from continuous historical experiences such as the Korean War or appearance of the loved one in the poor past. The current brilliant present was impaired and broken due to the configuration of the poor and heartbroken past. These aspects did not correspond to the policies of the regime requiring economic abundance and sound and joyful psychological development. The movie accepted the policies and requirement of the regime but reflected the reality’s poor life which could not follow economic modernization, people’s desire or historical pains which had not been solved. This is why family narrative in popular melodramas in the mid-and-late 1960’s seemed to be cracked and destroyed. Accordingly, deinstutionalized family represented in the popular melodramas in the mid-and-late 1960’s played an important role to adjust and alleviate emotional stress and frustration of people against modernization.
