경남장애유아 조기교육 실태 조사

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 경남 장애유아 조기교육 실태조사를 위해 경남에 분포되어 있는 특수학교 유치부, 장애전담어린이집, 복지관 및 사회단체 장애아 조기교육실, 사설 조기교육실, 장애 통합 어린이집, 병설유치원 특수학급 106개와 장애유아가 소속되어 있는 일반유치원 5개 총 111개 시설에 대해 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 설문 내용은 조기교육 수혜 유아 현황, 교사의 특성, 운영기관의 교육과정 및 교육방법과 교육환경, 재정 및 경영상황, 문제점과 개선방안으로 구성되었다. 연구 결과 경남 지역에 분포하고 있는 장애유아 조기교육 담당 기관은 창원 지역에 집중되어 있으며, 마산, 진주, 김해, 거제를 제외한 대부분의 지역이 한 가지 형태의 조기교육기관만을 갖고 있거나, 어떠한 형태의 기관도 없는 지역도 있었다. 이외 장애유아 및 교사의 현황과, 각 조기교육기관의 교육과정 및 교육방법 운영 실태를 알아보고, 조기교육기관 운영의 문제점 및 개선 방안에 대해 살펴보고 최근의 장애유아 조기교육의 동향에 따라 연구 결과를 고찰하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the current status on the early childhood special education in Kyoungnam province, Korea. For this study, a total of 111 child care facilities participated. Child care facilities include special school, day care center for young children with special needs, inclusive day care center, kindergarten, private early special education center in Kyoungnam province. The results are as follows: First, there were more private early special education center than public facilities in Kyoungnam. There were more boys than girls and were children with mental retardation, autism, emotional and behavior problems, communication disorder, physical disability and hearing disorder according to numbers of children included early childhood special education facilities. There were many teachers without professional certification about special education in over 50% facilities. Second, Many facilities did not perform IEP, assessment and evaluation for children with special needs. Although some facilities performed assessment and evaluation, they did not assess and evaluate for IEP and curriculum development. Third, there were little play and lest space for children with special needs in those facilities. The personnel expenses of those facilities were insufficient. Forth, in order to improve early childhood special education status of Kyoungnam, it needs to developing systematic curriculum, environment remodeling and government supports for fund assignment of early childhood special education facilities.
