국문 초록

본 연구는 스마트폰중독 경향성이 초등학생의 학교생활적응과 학업성취에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고 이러한 영향을 미치는 관계에 있어 ADHD성향성이 어떠한 매개효과를 나타내는지 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 서울, 인천, 대구지역 5개 초등학교 4-6학년 학생 834명을 대상으로 스마트폰중독 경향성, ADHD성향성, 학교생활적응, 학업성취에 대해 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 구조방정식 모형분석(SEM)을 통해 분석되었다. 주요 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스마트폰중독 경향성은 학교생활적응에 유의한 부적 영향을 미칠 가능성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 스마트폰중독 경향성은 학교생활적응에 직접적으로 뿐만 아니라 ADHD성향성을 매개로하여 간접적으로도 부정적 영향을 미칠 가능성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 스마트폰중독 경향성은 학업성취에도 부정적인 영향을 줄 가능성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 스마트폰중독 경향성은 학업성취에 직접적 영향을 미치는 동시에 ADHD성향성에 부정적 영향을 미침으로써 학업성취에 간접적으로 영향을 미칠 가능성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 스마트폰중독 경향성이 높아짐에 따라 ADHD성향성이 증가되고 학교생활적응과 학업성취에 부정적 영향을 미칠 가능성이 존재한다는 탐색적 연구결과를 보여줌으로써 스마트폰중독 경향수준을 감소시키기 위한 올바른 스마트폰 사용 교육과 심리적 상담프로그램 개발 시 참고할 수 있는 기초적 자료를 제공하였다는 데 연구의 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate how the smartphone addiction tendency of elementary school students influenced their school adjustment and academic achievement and whether their ADHD tendency had a mediating effects on these influences. A total of 834 students from the 4-6th grade of five elementary schools from Seoul, Incheon, and Daegu educational regions were surveyed about their smartphone addiction tendency, ADHD tendency, school adjustment, and academic achievement. The collected data were analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling(SEM). Research results were as follows. First, smartphone addiction tendency could give negative impacts on school adjustment. Second, the smartphone addiction tendency could negatively influence the school adjustment directly as well as indirectly through ADHD tendency. Third, smartphone addiction tendency could give negative impacts on academic achievement. Fourth, the smartphone addiction tendency could negatively influence the academic achievement directly as well as indirectly through ADHD tendency. This study shows the possibility of how smartphone addiction tendency negatively influences school adjustment and academic achievement directly as well as indirectly through ADHD tendency and provides basic data to prepare educational programs of proper smartphone use and counseling programs to reduce smartphone addiction.
