국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 특별히 네팔 특수교사와 일반교사의 성 관련 이슈에 대한 견해의 차이에 초점을 맞추었다. 연구방법: 조사도구는 설문지를 이용하였으며, 조사 대상은 전체 100명으로서 카투만두 벨리 소재 특수학교와 일반학교에서 각각 50명씩 무선표집되었다. 데이터는 독립표본 t검정을 통해 분석되었으며, 특수교사와 일반교사의 두 집단은 성 관련 이슈에 대한 관점에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 연구결과: 연구 결과를 통해 특수교사와 일반교사는 성관련 이슈에 대한 지각 차원에서 상당한 차이가 있을 것으로 추론된다. 특수교사는 사춘기와 운동 기술 습득과 같은 신체적 및 생물학적 관점에서 성적 차이가 존재한다는데 더욱 동의하였다. 반면에 일반교사는 학습 스타일, 스트레스 대처, 훈육과 창의성과 같은 정신적 측면에서 성적 차이가 있다는 점에 더욱 동의했다. 결론: 성 문제는 매우 복잡하고, 교사들은 성 관련 이슈와 관련하여 교육과 훈련을 받아야 할 것이다. 성관련 전문 교육은 교사들로 하여금 학교와 교실에서 부정적인 성적 고정관념을 최소화하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study focused on the differences in perspectives of general education and special education teachers regarding gender related issues. Method: For this purpose, data was collected through questionnaires and participants were selected via random sampling method. 100 teachers from Kathmandu valley which includes Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu districts were surveyed comprising of 50 samples from special schools and 50 from general schools. The data was analyzed through independent sample T-Test to find out the differences in perspectives between the two groups of teachers. Result: Considerable difference in the perceptions of special education and general education teachers were inferred from this study. As a whole, special education teachers agreed more on the presence of gender differences regarding the physical or biological aspects of gender such as puberty and acquisition of motor skills. On the contrary, general education teachers agreed more on the presence of gender differences of their students in terms of the mental, aspects of gender such as learning style, dealing with stress and creativity. Conclusion: It was thus concluded that as gender is such a complex issue, it would be beneficial for teachers to undergo gender training where they can be sensitized on the related issues.
