국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 시각장애학교에서 저시력학생을 교육한 경험이 있는 교사를 대상으로 저시력학생에 대한 교육활동에서 겪은 경험을 알아보고, 이를 토대로 저시력학생에 대한 효과적인 교육지원 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 저시력학생을 교육한 경험이 있는 교사 5명을 연구 참여자로 선정하여 초점집단면담(FGI)을 실시하였다. 수집한 자료는 질적 연구 분석 도구(CAQDAS)인 ‘NVivo 12’를 활용하여 귀납적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 시각장애학교 교사들이 인식하는 저시력학생에 대한 교육의 어려움은 ‘교사의 전문성 부족’, ‘준비되지 못한 특수학교’, ‘체계적이지 못한 평가’ 등의 3가지 범주로 분석되었다. 둘째, 시각장애학교 교사들이 인식하는 저시력학생에 대한 교육 개선 방안은 ‘교사의 전문성 함양’, ‘평가에 기반을 둔 교육지원’, ‘다양한 교육과정 운영’, ‘지원체제 구축’으로 나타났다. 논의: 이 연구의 결과를 토대로 시각장애 특수학교에서 저시력학생을 위하여 효과적으로 교육 지원을 할 수 있는 다양한 방안을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: This study aimed to examine teachers’ experiences of students with low vision in schools for the blind and visually impaired, and based on the results, to find effective educational support measures for students with low vision(SLV). Method: Focus group meetings were conducted for five teachers who were experienced in educating SLV. The collected data were inductively analyzed using the computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software NVivo 12. Results: First, the teachers perceived difficulties in educating SLV in terms of three broad categories: (1) teachers’ lack of expertise, (2) unprepared special education schools, and (3) disorganized assessments. Second, the teachers felt that educational improvement measures SLV should include the cultivation of teachers’ expertise, assessment-based education, the operation of appropriate curricula, and the establishment of support systems for teachers. Discussion: Based on the study results, various measures are discussed with the aim of providing effective educational support for SLV in schools for the blind and visually impaired.
