국문 초록

보험사업은 사전에 보험료를 받고 사후에 보험금을 지급하는 신용사업의 성격이 강하기 때문에 지급능력의 확보가 아주 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 파산전 지급 능력 확보제도로서 책임준비금제도, 경영평가제도, 조기경보제도, 지급여력제도의 현황을 살펴보고 문제점을 파악한 후 각 제도의 개선방안을 제시하였다. 최근에 특히 중요성이 더해가는 지급여력제도의 경우 미국·일본에서 도입된 RBC제도에 대해 좀더 자세히 살펴보고 우리 나라에서의 도입을 위한 기본방향을 제시하였다. 책임준비금 관련제도의 경우 경제·금융의 개방화·자유화·국제화에 따라 도입이 필요한 표준책임준비금제도, 금리유지준비금제도 등에 대해 살펴보고 현행 책임준비금 적립방식인 순보험료식의 강약점에 대해 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

Insurance business has a character of credit business which receives premiums priori and pays claims posteriori. Thus, solvency of an insurance company is very important. This study examines current life insurance reserve systems, business evaluation system, early warning system, and solvency margin system, and critical problems of those systems, and suggests several measures to improve the current systems. For the solvency margin system which becomes more important than ever this study examines in detail the RBC system currently employed in the U.S.A. and Japan and proposes a principal direction for the introduction of the RBC system in Korea. In the era of openness, liberalization, and globalization the appropriate reserving system of a life insurance company is a basically important factor. This study presents strong and weak points of the current net level reserving system and proposes the introduction of those systems such as a standard valuation reserve and an interest maintenance reserve.
