중국 지역경제성장과 지역경제력격차에 대한 연구

국문 초록

이 논문은 1980-2011기간 자료를 사용하여 중국의 31개 성․시를 동부, 중부, 서부지역으로 구분하고 이들 지역의 경제력 격차와 지역성장간 Kuznets 역 U자 가설을 검증하였다. 지역의 경제력 격차는 시간의 경과에 따라 달라지기 때문에 기존의 이차함수형태 모형의 정태분석을 한계를 극복하기위하여 동태분석모형인 다항시차분포모형을사용하여 실증 분석하였다. 실증분석결과 중국의 동부, 중부, 서부 지역들 간 절대적 경제력 격차는 경제가 성장함에 따라 장기적으로 증가해온 것으로 나타났으며, 이들 지역간 상대적 경제력 격차는 쿠즈네츠 역 U자 가설을 지지하는 것으로 나타났다. 지역내 경제력 격차의 경우동부 지역내 절대적 경제력 격차는 최근 정점에 다다른 것으로 판단되며 상대적 경제력 격차는 쿠즈네츠 역 U자 가설을 지지하였다. 중부지역 내 절대적 경제력 격차는 U자형태로 장기적으로 증가하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 상대적 경제력 격차는 우하향 형태로 지속적으로 감소하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 서부지역은 최근 지역 내 절대적 경제력 격차와 상대적 경제력 격차 모두 상승하는 것으로 나타났다. 실증 분석 결과에 따른 정책적 시사점은 중국 정부의 “서부대개발”, “동북진흥”과 같은 중장기 지역 균형 정책에 기인하여 이들 정책은 최근 동부, 중부, 서부 지역간 경제력 격차의 완화라는 성과를 이루고 있으나, 중∙서부 지역의 빠른 성장은 이들 지역내 지역 간 성장 격차라는 새로운 문제를 부각시키고 있다. 따라서 향후 중∙서부 지역내 성장 격차 해소에 많은 관심이 필요하다.

영문 초록

In this Paper, i study the Kuznets inverse U-hypothesis about the relationship betweenregional economic growth and regional economic disparities in China's eastern, central andwestern regions for the period 1980-2011. The economic disparity changed according to time,so the empirical test model used the polynomial distributed lag model. That the results of theempirical analysis, inter-regional absolute economic disparity of China’s Eastern, Central andWestern regions has increased over the long term, but the relative economic disparitybetween regions of China’s supported the Kuznets inverted-U hypothesis. The economicdisparities in the regions, the absolute economic disparity in the eastern regions has reachedthe peak of recent, the relative economic disparity supported the Kuznets inverted-Uhypothesis. in middle regions, Absolute economic disparities in the middle region increased inthe long term in a U-shape, the relative economic disparity in the middle regions hasdeclined continuously in the form of a downward-sloping. The western regions, the relativeand the absolute economic disparities increased along with economic growth. Policyimplications based on the results of the empirical analysis, the medium-and long-termregional balanced policy of the Chinese government has made the results of mitigation ofeconomic disparities between regions in the eastern, central and western regions, but inrecent middle․western regions rapid growth has highlighted a new problem of growingdisparities between regions within the regions of these.
