국문 초록

과정 중심 쓰기는 초등학교 쓰기 교육에 큰 영향을 미친 관점이지만, 쓰기 이론의연구사가 오랜 만큼 그 의미와 적용 양상이 혼재되어 있다. 이렇게 혼재된 논의와 적용 양상은 현장 교사가 원래 의미와 다른 방식으로 구현하거나, 연구에 혼선이 생기는 등 소통의 측면에서 여러 어려움으로 이어진다. 이 연구는 과정 중심 쓰기 교육 방법론을 되짚어 보고 우리나라 초등 쓰기 교육에 보탬이 될 시사점을 추려내기 위하여다음과 같은 연구 문제에 답한다. 과정 중심 쓰기 방법론(writing process approaches) 의 영향과 연구사적 위치, 최근의 쟁점은 무엇인가? 우리나라 초등 쓰기 교육에 반영할 시사점은 무엇인가? 이 연구에서는 과정 중심 쓰기 교육 방법론에 관하여 합의할수 있는 공통 요인을 되짚어 보면서 연구사와 최근의 쟁점을 톺아보았다. 이후 초등과정 중심 쓰기 교육을 위한 교사의 역할, 과정 중심 쓰기에 관한 흔한 오해와 실수, 과정 중심 쓰기 교육의 풍성한 결과를 유도하기 위한 두 가지 제언―토론 융합, 유연한 참여 구조―을 부연하였다.

영문 초록

The writing process approach is a perspective that has had a great impact on elementary school writing instruction, but it has many definitions and teachers implement it in different ways. This mixture of definitions, understanding, and applications leads to multiple hurdles in terms of communication between elementary teachers, educators, and researchers. This study answers the following research questions to review the features of writing process approaches and to identify the implications that will be helpful for elementary school writing instruction in South Korea. What are the influences, historical positions, and recent issues concerning writing process approaches? What are the implications to be reflected in elementary school writing instruction in South Korea? In this study, examining the key factors of writing process approaches that we can all agree on, recent issues were also discussed. The teacher s role in effective process writing instruction, common misconceptions and mistakes about writing process approaches, and two suggestions for inducing effective writing practices―talk during the writing process and flexible participation―were elaborated on.
