그림 상징체계에 대한 유아들의 도상성 인식 조사

국문 초록

본 연구는 국내에서 사용되고 있는 4가지 그림 상징체계 (보드메이커, 키즈보이스, 오케이 톡톡, 포켓 AAC)의 도상성을 분석하고, 유아들이 인식하는 도상성 인식 요소가 무엇인지 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 참여 유아는 만 3세와 만 5세의 일반 유아 89명이었으며, 응답이 부적절한 6명을 제외한 83명 유아의 반응을 기반으로 4가지 그림 상징체계의 도상성과 도상성 인식 요소를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 그림 상징체계의 선택은 어느 한 상징체계만을 선호하는 것이 아니라 각 어휘의 의미에 따라 각각 다른 이유로 상징을 다양하게 선택하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 그림 상징체계의 그림 상징체계 인식 요소는 실제와의 유사성, 세부적 외형 묘사, 행동 묘사, 기능성/본질적 의미와 감성적 판단의 5가지 인식 요소로 범주화할 수 있었다. 그리고 명사 어휘에 대해서는 ‘실제와의 유사성’과 ‘세부적 외형 묘사’가 도상성 인식 요소로 작용하였고, 동사 어휘에 대해서는 ‘행동 묘사’, 형용사 어휘에 대해서는 ‘세부적 외형 묘사’와 ‘행동 묘사’, 기타 표현 어휘에 대해서는 ‘세부적 외형 묘사’가 도상성 인식 요소로 작용하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to find out which AAC(Augmentative and Alternative Communication) picture symbols was more transparent among four AAC picture symbol system(Boardmaker, Kidsvoice, OKTocTalk and Pocket AAC). Another purpose was to find out perception elements for iconicity of picture symbols. The participants of this study were 83 young children aged from 3 to 5. For vocabulary and other expression test items, 45 vocabularies consisting of 29 Nouns, 9 Verbs, 7 Adjectives, and 16 additional other expressions were selected. For testing iconicity of symbols, an assorted symbol board consisting four picture symbol systems was used. The participants had to choose the most representative symbol in the order among four symbols. In order to find out the iconicity perception elements, the qualitative analyzing was performed through the answers of participants about the reason why they selected the symbol firstly among four picture symbol systems. The result of this study are as follows. First, in this study, in terms of Nouns, Verbs and additional other expressions, OKTocTalk symbols represented the best iconicity among four picture symbols. Second, in this study, iconicity perception elements were categorized by 5 elements; ‘Similarity of the reality’, ‘Detailed outline description’, ‘Behavior description’, ‘Functional/Essential Meaning’ and ‘Emotional decision’.‘ Similarity on the reality’ and ‘Detailed outline description’ were the key elements for iconicity perception of Nouns, while ‘Behavior description’ was for the Verbs, and the Detailed Outline description were for the Adjectives and additional other expressions.
