국문 초록

빅데이터 시대가 도래하고 데이터과학자(data scientist) 인력 부족과 역량 개발 문제가 관심을 받고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 데이터과학자 역량모델을 구축하고, 역량 중요도와 성취도에 대한 실증 조사를 수행함으로써 향후 교육 및 경력 개발에 필요한 정보를 도출하는데 있다. 우선 국내외 선행 연구 고찰과 전문가 검토에 의하여 4개 차원 16개 역량으로 이루어진 모델을 구축하였다. 4개 차원은 다음과 같다. (1) IT전문지식, (2) 빅데이터 분석 숙련도, (3) 아이디어 창출 및 현업 활용 능력, (4) 개인적 자세 및 자질. 현재 활동 중인 데이터과학자를 대상으로 역량의 기대수준을 의미하는 중요도와 실제 보유수준을 의미하는 성취도를 조사하였다. 16개 역량의 중요도, 성취도, 중요도-성취도 갭, IPA 매트릭스 등 4개 시각에서 분석한 결과, 데이터 해석을 통해 의미 있는 정보를 발견하는 분석 감각과 단편 정보를 통합하여 비즈니스 문제해결에 유용한 아이디어를 생성하는 역량 향상이 가장 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to define the competence of data scientist in the field of big data and empirically analyze the perceptual importance and performance of competence of data scientist group. Based upon the previous research and the review opinion of the professionals, the competence model has been established, which consists of four dimensions and sixteen competence. Four dimensions are (1) IT expertise, (2) big data analysis skills, (3) capability of idea generation and business deployment and (4) individual attitude and human relation skills. A field survey has been performed and 63 responses have been collected. Statistical analysis including IPA have shown that it is necessary to improve three competence including business problem solving, analytic sensibility, and IT expertise. The findings of this research can provide some meaningful information in order to fully understand and develop the competence of data scientists.
