국문 초록

본 연구는 말(馬)산업단지의 입지 결정 요인과 네트워크 외부성의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 말(馬)산업은 전통 제조업과 달리 농업, 관광, 복지, 서비스가 융합된 복합 산업으로, 특화된 입지 전략이 요구된다. 본 연구는 구조방정식모형(SEM)을 활용하여 환경적, 물리적, 경제적, 산업적, 사회적, 정책적 요인으로 구성된 입지 요인이 네트워크 외부성과 입주 결정에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 경제적, 산업적, 사회적, 정책적 요인은 네트워크 외부성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 이를 통해 입주 결정에도 간접적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 환경적 요인과 물리적 요인은 네트워크 외부성과 입주 결정에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 심층 인터뷰 결과, 방역·수의·인프라·관광 자원과의 연계성, 지역사회 수용성이 말(馬)산업단지 조성의 핵심 요소로 확인되었으며, 실무 현장에서는 네트워크 형성 부족, 전문 인력 부족, 지역사회와의 협력 부족이 주요 문제로 인식되고 있었다. 본 연구는 말(馬)산업단지 조성 시 단순한 비용절감뿐만 아니라, 네트워크 형성, 특화 인프라 구축, 지역사회와의 협력이 반드시 병행되어야 함을 제언한다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the determinants of location decisions for equine industry clusters and the mediating role of network externalities. Unlike traditional manufacturing, the equine industry integrates agriculture, tourism, welfare, and services, requiring a specialized approach to location strategies. Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), this study identifies six major location factors: environmental, physical, economic, industrial, social, and policy factors. The results show that economic, industrial, social, and policy factors positively influence network externalities and indirectly affect location decisions, whereas environmental and physical factors show no significant influence. In-depth interviews further reveal that veterinary and quarantine infrastructure, linkages with tourism resources, and community acceptance are critical for cluster development. However, practitioners consistently pointed out weak network formation, a lack of professional manpower, and poor collaboration with local communities as key obstacles. This study confirms the importance of network externalities in equine industry clusters and suggests that policies should not only focus on cost reduction but also promote networks, specialized infrastructure, and community engagement. The findings provide meaningful insights for future policy-making and sustainable development of equine industry clusters.
