장애학생의 자기결정 관련 국내 연구동향 분석 및 향후 연구과제 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 2008년부터 2017년까지 지난 10년 동안에 이루어진 장애학생의 자기결정 관련 국내 연구 총 121편을 선정하여 4가지 연구주제(자기결정 증진의 영향, 자기결정에 영향을 미치는 중재 및 변인, 자기결정에 대한 인식, 자기결정 관련 특수교육 쟁점) 및 하위주제, 세부변인에 따라 심층 분석함으로써 국내 자기결정 관련 연구의 전반적인 동향을 파악하고 이를 토대로 향후 관련 연구의 과제를 모색하였다. 문헌분석 결과, 10년 전에 비해 장애학생의 자기결정 관련 연구가 2배 가까이 양적으로 증가하였을 뿐만 아니라 질적으로도 자기결정 증진의 영향 및 자기결정에 영향을 미치는 변인에 대한 연구의 다양화, 일반학급에서의 연구 증가, 자기결정에 대한 장애학생 당사자의 인식을 조사하는 질적연구가 시도되는 등 의미 있는 변화가 나타났다. 아울러 본 연구 결과를 토대로 국내 장애학생의 자기결정에 대한 향후 연구과제를 다음과 같이 제안하였다: 1) 장애학생의 자기결정 증진을 위한 교사 및 부모의 역량 개발, 2) 장애학생의 전환 및 학업 성과 모두를 위한 교수적 접근 활성화, 3) 자기결정의 측정을 위한 다양한 도구 개발, 4) 자기결정 관련 연구 범위의 확대.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate trends and future directions in research regarding the self-determination of students with disabilities in Korea by reviewing a total of 121 Korean articles related to this subject and published from 2008 to 2017. The articles were analyzed using research topics (impact of self-determination, intervention/variables to influence self-determination, perception on self-determination, and special education issues regarding self-determination), sub-topics and other variables. According to the analysis, the number of research articles has quantitatively increased nearly more than twice compared to 10 years ago. Also, there has been meaningful changes in quality such as the diversity of research regarding the impact of promoting self-determination and interventions for it, the increase of research conducted in general classrooms, and trials to listen to students about self-determination. Based on the findings of this study, implications for application of and future research on self-determination are provided as follows: a) improving capacities of teachers and parents to promote the self-determination of students with disabilities, b) using instructional methods to enhance both transition and academic outcomes for the students, c) developing various scales to measure degree of self-determination, and d) extending the scope of research on self-determination.
