화이트헤드의 미적 경험을 통해 본 미술교육의 방향

국문 초록

공교육에서의 미술교육은 학생들에게 풍요로운 미적 경험을 제공함으로써 학생들이 정서적인 안정을 가지고 사회가 가진 여러 가지 문제점을 극복할 수 있도록 해야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 학생들의 심미적인 정서 함양을 가능하게 하는 풍요로운 미적경험을 제공하기 위해 공교육의 미술수업이 어떠한 모습이어야 할지 그 방법을 화이트헤드의 ‘교육의 리듬’과 ‘지각론’을 통해 찾고자 한다. 본 연구는 우선 화이트헤드의 유기체 철학에 담긴 리듬에 대해 이해하고, 미술수업에서의 ‘교육의 리듬’의 3단계(낭만단계․정확성의 단계․일반화의 단계)를 화이트헤드의 ‘지각론’을 근거로 분석하였다. 이를 통해 낭만단계를 활성화한 미술수업을 통해 학생들에게 미적 경험을 풍요롭게 할수 있다는 결론을 도출했다. 그리고 이러한 미술수업을 만들기 위해서는 학생들의 활동이 일어나는 ‘장소’와 학생들의 ‘신체’를 미술수업 중요한 요소로 고려해야 하며, 이 두 가지 요소가 보장된 미술수업 환경은 ‘미술수업에 대한 교사의 인식 전환’을 통하여 학생들의 ‘신체 활동을 활성화하는 물리적인 환경’ 조성과 수업 과정 중에 학생들의 ‘신체 활동을 독려하는 교사의 소극적 태도’를 통해 가능할 수 있음을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The art education in public schools should help students to overcome the various problems of the society and have emotional stability by providing a rich aesthetic experience(esthetical experience). Therefore, this study is to find the ways of the art classes of public education through the rhythm of education and perceptions of Whitehead in order to provide rich aesthetic experiences that enables to cultivate aesthetic emotions of students. Therefore, in this study, first the rhythm contained in the organism philosophy of Whitehead was understood and three stages of the “rhythm of education” such as the stage of romance, the stage of precision and the stage of generalization in the art class were analyzed based on the perception Whitehead. This has lead to the conclusion that the art class activating the stage of romance can enrich the aesthetic experience of the students. Thus, this study suggests that the ‘place’ taking place art class and body of students should be considered as important factors in order to make these art classes. Also, it suggests that the art class environment ensured these two factors can be formed by “the physical environment to activate physical activities” composed by students and “the passive attitude of teachers to encourage students’ physical activities” through “switching recognition of teachers” about art classes.
