조소교육의 정당성에 대한 모색

국문 초록

본 연구는 조소교육의 위기 극복을 위해 조소의 특성을 탐구하고 그 교육적 의의와 정당성을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 다양한 재료의 물성을 경험하고, 질적 사고를 촉진하며, 공간과 환경에 대한 새로운 시각과 창의적 조형작품의 제작은 조소교육을 통해서만 가능한 조소교육만의 특성이기도 하다. 조소의 공간 지각과 제작, 감상 활동은 좌․우뇌의 균형 있는 발달과 인지적인 사고로의 변화를 촉진시키며, 노작적 특성은 눈과 손의 협응력을 발달시켜 세계와 실존의 인식을 깊게 해준다. 또한 다원적인 사고를 통한 미술문화의 이해와 예술의 향수역량을 길러준다. 예술교육의 정상화야 말로 학교와 학생을 숨 쉬게 하고 학교를 인성교육의 장으로 만드는 학교교육 정상화의 출발선이다. 조소교육은 이러한 학교 교육의 정상화를 위한 인간 교육의 접점으로서, 인간 중심의 교육 문화를 형성하는 강력한 단초로서 정당성을 갖는다.

영문 초록

This paper aims to overcome the problematic issues of the plastic arts education and suggests its educational significance and justification. The plastic arts education can be justified since it provides experiences of the properties of matter and qualitative thinking by pursuing the balance between the natural and the artificial. In addition to this, the activities of perceiving, creating and appreciating the shapes and spaces can develop the balanced brain between left and right, making the perception of spaces and environments more open, and they change the cognitive thinking with the new. The laborious work of the plastic arts especially develops the ability of eye-hand coordination and contributes to deeper recognition of the world and existence. It provides the understanding of arts and culture, and capacity of enjoyment through muti-dimensional thinking. It is the educational approaches to the balance between the real world and the illusion with perception and expression of real objects. The plastic arts can make more synergy effects with the convergence of science and technology.
