종합일간지 미술기사 분석으로 본 한국사회의 미술 대중화

국문 초록

종합일간지 미술기사 분석을 통해 언론이라는 매체가 동시대의 미술 현상을 어떻게 담아내고 있는지와 이러한 매체를 통해 보도되는 미술정보의 특성은 무엇인지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 한국사회의 동시 대로 일컬어질 수 있는 1981년부터 2010년에 해당하는 종합일간지 분석 결과 . 미술기사의 양적인 증가가 확인되었다. 종합일간지 미술기사는 주로 문화면에 일반보도형태로 보도되며, 객관적 사실에 간단한 해설과 비평의 형식으로 구성되었다. 시기별로 전시의 형태 개인전 주체 소속 미술관들의 역할 변화 등을 살펴본 결과 동시대 미술의 변화와 특성이 미술기사를 통해 반영되고 있었다. 한편 미술기사가 보도하는 미술정보의 특성에 관한 분석결과 미술기사의 형식적， 내용적 측면의 문제점들이 발견되었다. 우선 미술기사는 ‘유명 미술가의 전시회 소식을 간단한 작품설명과 함께 긍정적 시각에서 내보내는 홍보성 보도기사의 형식을 취하고 있었다. 미술기사 중 절반이 전시 및 작가관련 기사이고 취재원의 수와 유형도 시기별로 큰 변화 없이 나타났다. 기사의 형식적 특성 과 내용， 논조 등에서는 미술기사의 심층성 부족이 확인되었다. 고정적이고 획일화되어 있는 미술기사는 대중의 미술에 대한 고정관념을 고착화시켜 새로운 미술개념의 전달과 수용에 부정적으로 작용하게 된다. 미술기사의 양적 중가가 진정한 동시대 미술의 대중화에 기여하기 위해서는 미술기사의 형식적 측면의 유연성과 내용적 측면의 심층성이 강화되어야 할 것 이다. 이를 위해 문화부 전문기자 재도의 활성화와 취재원으로서의 미술 비평의 역할 증대가 요구된다 아울러 미술계도 매체를 통한 대중과의 소통의 중요성을 인식하여 미술기사를 통해 제공되는 미술정보의 양적， 질적 측면을 보완하기 위한 관심과 노력을 기울여야 할 것 이다. 특히 동시대 미술의 동향에 민감하게 반응해야 하는 미술교육의 경우 언론을 통해 보도되는 미술관련 정보의 특성을 인지하고 이를 교육 현장 및 미술교육이론에 활용하는 적극적인 자세가 필요할 것이 다. 또한 언론을 통해 미술교육을 보다 정확히 알리고 이해시키기 위한 노력을 바탕으로 미술교육의 사회적 위상 정립 에도 힘써 야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

In this study aspects of the art popularization in the Korean society were observed based on the analysis of article in the newspapers: the expression of the art popularization in itself and the characteristics of the art information reported by itself. The art articles reported by the press are analyzed as follows: The n umber of articles has been increased from 1981 to 2010. The almost articles were reported in the cultural area and consisted of objective facts, simple explanation, and mild criticism. Based on time period, however, some meaningful changes were partially observed in the view of the type of exhibitions, the subject of exhibitions, role of gallery, etc. The art articles reported famous artist-exhibitions and simple explanations of their works with positive points of view. Many articles have been just focused only on artists themselves with similar trend of the source and the types. It led the lack of depth of the characteristics, contents, and criticism in the articles. The articles can make the fixed idea of the arts and paly a negative role for the transportation and acceptance of new concepts of the arts. There are two keys for the quantitative expansion of the art articles to contribute the popularization of the contemporary art: the improvement of the flexibility on their types and the enhancement of the depth of the contents. In the view of the press, more professional reporters and sources are required for the cultural area. In the view of the art society, the interaction with the public and the active participation are needed to provide and to improve the both qualitative and quantitative art information. The art education. which reacts with the trend of the contemporary art. needs the active attitude to recognize the characteristics of the art information reported and to apply that in its field. The current status of the art education should be reported in the press interactively. The collaboration between fields of the art education and the press can enhance the social contribution with the contemporary art.
