국문 초록

본 연구는 2007 개정 미술과 교육과정에 의거한 초등학교 미술 교과서에 서술된 전통문화에 대한 내용을 분석하고 그 특정을 밝히는 것이 목적이다. 교과서에서 전통 미술교육의 경향과 내용 분석은 현재 교육과정에서 문화와 전통미술이 연계되는 부분과 각론으로서 미술과 교육과정에서 어떤 내용체계를 구성하고 제시하고 있으며， 교과서에서는 구체적으로 어떤 단원구성을 하고 내용이 무엇인지를 살펴보는데 있다 분석의 결과는 첫째， 전통미술의 분량은 교과서 마다 차이가 있지만 한 교과서의 전체 12 (10-13) 단원 중 2-3 단원을 중점으로 다루고， 주된 소재나 주제나 단순 사례로 다수 다루어진다 둘째， 전통미술의 내용구성방식에서 통합적 접근을 하고 있다 셋째, 교과서에 많이 다루어지고 있는 영역은 공예， 회화의 비중이 높고 조각이나 건축은 빈약하다 넷째， 전통미술로 제시되는 작품들은 조선시대의 작품이 가장 많다. 다섯째，전통미술을 다루는 관점은 전통미술을 보존， 복원보다 발전적 변에서 소재나 주제로 삼아 새롭게 창작하는 것 이 대부분이다 애호나 보존의 태 도적인 면은 빈약하다 그리고 장기적으로는 전통미 술을 오늘에 되살려 새롭게 표현하고 향유하면서 애호하는 태도를 갖기 위하여 전통미술의 가치를 일깨우고 미술문화를 향유하는 미적안목과 감상 방법을 통하여 문화적 역량을 강화해주는 교육을 필요로 한다.

영문 초록

This paper discusses the result of content analysis of the elementary school art textbooks based on the 2007 revised national art curriculum of Korea. The content analysis focuses on the prominent features of traditional Korean culture described in the textbooks. This analysis investigates how the traditional art education the textbooks employ reflects the national art curriculum in terms of association between culture and traditional art. It also examines how such specific units and contents in the textbooks reflect and actualize the overall art curriculum. This research, as a result, elucidates the following implications: 1) The number of units focusing on traditional Korean art varies (normally, it is 2 or 3 units among 12) and each unit is simple, case-centered, and limited to the primary subjects and themes: 2) An integrative approach to teaching is needed for the way in which these contents regarding traditional artwork are organized: 3) While painting and craft are popular genres, topics regarding sculpture or architecture are meager; 4) Traditional artwork created in the Chason dynasty are mostly presented: 5) The attitude toward traditional artwork is not about how to preserve or restore but about how to re-interpret their subjects and themes for progressive recreation. In such, the attitude lacks focus on preservation and restoration. In the long run, traditional art education needs to enhance students' attitude and effort to re-interpret our traditional art, then to recreate it from present perspectives. For this, we need to teach the value of traditional Korean art. Furthermore, we have to culturally empower our students to develop an eye for aesthetics, as well as a capacity to enjoy and appreciate art and culture.
