At the beginning of the 21st century, German society faces great social and economic changes that profoundly affect the lives of children and families, More than 3 million children live with unemployed parents, and young people themselves face an uncertain future because of dwindling apprenticeship positions and career opportunities. In addition, many German special needs children find school to be a stressful experience and question the relevance of their education. In which type of school can special needs children be furthered best? Where will they receive a school-leaving certificate that corresponds best to their talents and potential? There questions cannot be given one common answer. In case of Baden Württemberg in Germany, basically one must remember that there are always various organizational paths leading to educational furtherance which has the well-being of the individual child in mind. The Sonderschule is special education furthering of children and young people with Disabilities in ordinary schools and schools for children with special needs in Germany. Sonderschule is a relatively fresh area that holds the promise of support for students and students with special needs who demonstrate thir stress and disillusionment by developing social, psychological, or cognitive problems in school. Also, special needs pupils visit ordinary schools together with children without special needs, if, under the given circumstances, these schools are able to guarantee them a suitable education and training within the scope of the school’s educational mission. The ordinary schools are given support in this’ work by the schools for children with special needs. Therefore, training for those entering the field and continuing education for teachers of Sonderschule social workers already practicing in schools is crucial. Because of its not long history in Germany, much remains to be done in establishing training opportunities, developing standards, documenting effective strategies, and establishing a research base in Sonderschule and Children with special needs. Special needs children are changing rapidly, and Sonderschule must change to meet these needs. Special needs children are changing rapidly, and Sonderschule must change to meet these needs. Sonderschule today is an essential partner in helping schools prepare special needs young people for their future.
