This study explores the sound design strategies of Baby Driver (2017), focusing on how auditory rhythm enhances narrative construction and immersive experience. Recognized for its distinctive integration of music, sound effects, and visual editing, Baby Driver exemplifies a contemporary cinematic language where sound is no longer a supplementary element but a central narrative and sensory mechanism. Drawing on theoretical frameworks including Michel Chion’s audio-vision, Claudia Gorbman’s narrative functions of film music, and presence theory, this paper examines how rhythmic sound design shapes cognitive and emotional immersion. Through detailed scene analysis and synchronization mapping—particularly of the "Tequila" action sequence—this research reveals how sonic rhythm orchestrates temporal structure, character identity, and spatial tension. The findings demonstrate that sound design in Baby Driver functions as a core cinematic strategy, structurally aligned with plot progression and embodied perception. The study also highlights the potential expansion of sound design into multi-platform content such as music videos, advertising, and immersive media (VR/AR), arguing for a redefinition of sound designers as sensory narrative architects. By addressing a research gap in existing literature, which tends to prioritize stylistic or editorial interpretations, this paper contributes to the academic discourse on cinematic sound. Furthermore, it calls for interdisciplinary dialogue and a reconsideration of sound design education, production workflows, and the role of auditory rhythm in shaping contemporary media experiences.
