국문 초록

이 연구는 현장 교사들의 생태중심주의 및 생태전환교육에 대한 인식과 적용을 위한 방향을 탐색하고, 이를 바탕으로 학교 현장에서 생태전환교육을 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 융합교육을 전공으로 대학원 과정에 개설된 강의에서 35명의 교사가 생태중심주의와 생태전환교육의 의미 및 현장 적용 방향을 주제로 진행한 토론 내용을 의미 네트워크 분석 방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 교사들의 토론에서 생태중심주의, 생태전환교육, 지속가능성, 실천을 중심으로 한 네 개의 주요 주제와 생태계, 환경, 공존과 관련 된 세 개의 부차적 주제를 확인할 수 있었다. 심층 분석 결과, 교사들의 인식을 통해 1) 인간중심주의를 넘어 생태중 심주의로의 인식전환, 2) 이를 위한 경험의 중요성, 3) 학생들의 생태시민성 함양, 4) 생활 속 생태적 행동 실천 유도라는 네 가지 중요한 논의점을 도출하였다. 이러한 결과는 생태전환교육을 통해 학생들의 인식전환과 생태감수성을 촉진하고, 경험을 기반으로 생태시민성을 함양하여 생태적 실천의 주체로 성장시키기 위한 실천 중심 교육의 필요성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore in-service teachers’ perceptions and approaches to applying ecocentrism and ecological transition education and to identify effective strategies for implementing ecological transition education in school settings. To this end, the study analyzed the discussion content of 35 teachers who participated in a graduate-level lecture on the meaning and practical application of ecocentrism and ecological transition education, offered as part of a convergence education course, using the semantic network analysis method. The analysis identified four primary themes in the teachers’ discussions—ecocentrism, ecological transition education, sustainability, and practice—along with three secondary themes related to ecosystem, environment, and coexistence. The detailed analysis revealed four key discussion points: 1) transitioning from anthropocentric to ecocentric perspectives, 2) the importance of experiential learning for this transition, 3) fostering students’ ecological citizenship, and 4) encouraging ecological practices in daily life. These findings suggest the need for a practice-oriented educational approach that promotes students’ perceptual transformation and ecological sensitivity through ecological transition education and cultivates ecological citizenship based on experience, thereby enabling students to grow into proactive agents of ecological practice.
