국가보훈대상자 생활실태조사자료에 기반한 중·장기 복무 제대군인의 삶의 질 관련 요인 특성

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 국가보훈대상자 생활실태조사에서 보훈대상자로 등록된 중·장기 복무 제대군인을 대상으로 제대군인들의 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고 정책수립의 근거를 마련하기 위함이다. 2021년 9월 24일부터 10월 5일까지 실시한 조사에서 제대군인으로 응답한 총 1,135명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 연구 결과, 불안이나 우울감이 없는 편, 현재 음주하는 경우, 기준중위소득 이상, 경제활동에 참여하는 경우, 가족관계에 만족하는 경우, 대화상대가 있는 경우, 단체참여활동을 하는 경우, 여가활동에 만족하는 경우에 제대군인의 삶의 질이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 주관적인 건강상태, 통증이나 불편감 정도, 주택입주 형태, 노후준비 상태 변수는 중·장기 복무 제대군인 삶의 질과 관련이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 중·장기 복무 제대군인의 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인된 8개 항목에 대한 중재방안이 마련하기를 제언한다. 특히, 물질적 측면뿐 아니라 비교군 간 삶의 질 점수 차가 컸던 정서적 측면의 가족관계만족도, 여가활동만족도를 높이는데 선택과 집중한다면 중·장기 복무 제대군인의 삶의 질 향상의 효과가 극대화될 것이다.

영문 초록

This study identifies the factors affecting the quality of life in discharged soldiers registered as mid- and long-term service veterans in the National Survey of Veterans' Living Conditions and utilizes them to lay the foundation for establishing policies that enhance the quality of life in such soldiers. This study included a total of 1,135 respondents who identified as veterans in the survey, conducted from September 24 to October 5, 2021. According to the results, the following circumstances were associated with a higher quality of life in discharged soldiers: not having anxiety or depression (compared to having anxiety or depression), being a drinker (compared to being a non-drinker), earning above the standard median income (compared to earning below the standard median income). In addition, higher life quality was linked to being satisfied with family relationships (compared to being dissatisfied), having conversation partners (compared to not having them), participating in group activities (compared to not participating in them), and being satisfied with leisure activities (compared to being dissatisfied). Subjective health status, level of pain or discomfort, housing tenure, and retirement readiness variables were not associated with quality of life for veterans of medium- to long-term service. It is recommended that interventions be developed for eight items that have been identified as having an influence on the quality of life of veterans of medium- to long-term service. In particular, the effect of improving the quality of life of veterans of mid- and long-term service will be maximized if we choose and focus on increasing family relationship satisfaction and leisure activity satisfaction, which are not only material aspects but also emotional aspects that have a large difference in quality of life scores between the comparison groups.
