교사의 정체성에 관한 자전적 내러티브 탐구 : 주체의 행위자성을 중심으로

국문 초록

교사정체성 개념은 주로 교사행위자성, 교사전문성 개념과의 관련 속에서 탐구되어왔다. 본 연구는 교사정체성에 대한 개념 연구의 진척을 토대로 교사의 교사정체성을 밝히기 위해 수행되었다. 이 작업을 수행하기 위하여 교사정체성·교사행위자성의 ‘주체’가 어떤 주체인가에 대한 문제의식으로 주체를 소환하였다. 따라서 이론적으로는 주체에 관해 이루어져 온 사유를 탐색하였고, 방법론적으로는 자전적 내러티브 탐구를 활용하여 한 교사 주체의 정체성·행위자성을 드러내는 자전적 내러티브를 구성하였다. 연구 결과, 교사의 자전적 내러티브는 인정 관계 속에 있는 교사 주체의 행위자성에 내재된 사회구조 및 학교문화를 드러냈다. 신자유주의 토대에서의 학력 담론과 능력 담론이 지역과 학교 특유의 문화 속에서 인정 관계에 있는 주체를 통해 어떤 행위자성으로 발현되었으며 그 결과 어떤 교사정체성을 가지게 되었는지가 드러났다. 학력과 능력 담론이라는 자장 안에 놓인 인정 관계 속 주체는 개별 학교 특유의 문화에 따라 역량 있는 교사에서 관계적 교사를 추구하도록 했다. 기존의 연구들에서 탐구되어온 교사정체성·행위자성의 개념을 적용한 이 칭험적 연구가 주체의 소환으로 인해 교사정체성 연구의 행방과 폭을 확장시키는 데 기여하게 되길 기대한다.

영문 초록

The concept of teacher identity has been mainly explored in relation to the concepts of teacher agency and teacher professionalism. This study reveals the teacher identity based on the progress of conceptual research on teacher identity. The subject was summoned with the question of what kind of subject is the 'subject' of teacher identity and teacher agency. Therefore, theoretically, the thoughts that have been made about subject were explored, and methodologically, an autobiographical narrative was used to reveal the identity and agency of a teacher subject. The results of the study revealed the social structure and school culture inherent in the agency of the teacher subject through the discourse of academic achievement and competence from neoliberalism. It revealed what kind of agency of the subject in a relationship of recognition had in the culture unique to the region and school, and what kind of teacher identity it had as a result. Within the field of discourse of academic achievement and competence, the subject in a relationship of recognition sought to pursue a relational teacher from a competent teacher according to the unique culture of each school. This empirical study, which applies the concepts of teacher identity and agency explored in previous studies, will contribute to expanding the direction and scope of teacher identity research by summoning the subject.
