국문 초록

본 연구는 미술치료에서 내담자의 심리적 성장과 통합을 돕는 상징과 창조성의 발달 과정을 Winnicott의 초기 대상관계 이론을 바탕으로 고찰하였다. 상징은 유아 발달 초기 단계에서 내적 세계와 외부 현실을 연결하는 과정에서 점진적으로 형성되며, 창조적 활동은 내부의 갈등을 외부대상으로 표현하고 자기(self) 통합을 이루는 중요한 기반이 된다. 문헌 고찰 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상징과 창조성은 유아와 엄마의 초기 관계 속에서 형성되며, 이는 심리적 통합과 성장의 기반이 된다. 둘째, 상징형성과 창조성이 억압된 개인은 심리적 통합이 결여된 상태로 수동적이고 의존적인 삶의 방식을 살아갈 위험이 크다. 셋째, 미술치료는 상징과 창조성의 발달을 촉진하는 요소들의 유기적인 과정으로, 상징과 창조성의 발달을 효과적으로 지원할 수 있다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 미술치료에서 상징과 창조성을 촉진하기 위한 이론적․실천적 시사점을 제시하고 본 연구의 의의와 제한점에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the developmental process of symbolism and creativity, promoting psychological growth and integration of clients within art therapy, based on Winnicott's early object relations theory. Symbolism was gradually formed in the early stages of infant development, connecting the inner world with external reality through serving creative activities as a crucial foundation for expressing internal conflicts through external objects and achieving self-integration. The literature review yielded the following findings. First, symbolism and creativity were formed within the early relationships between infants and their mothers, providing the basis for psychological integration and growth. Second, individuals with repressed symbolism and creativity were at risk of living passively and dependently due to the lack of psychological integration. Third, the therapy was effectively supported an organic process that fostered the development of symbolism and creativity, her growth. Based on these findings, this study suggested theoretical and practical implications for fostering symbolism and creativity in art therapy and discussed the study's significance and limitations.
