모래놀이치료에 나타난 나비의 상징 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 나비의 상징을 고찰하고 모래놀이치료 사례에 나타난 나비의 상징적 의미를 분석심리학적 관점에서 탐색함으로써 내담자의 내적 심리 발달 과정에서 나비 상징이 갖는 기능을 이해하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 나비의 생물학적 특성과 신화, 민담, 문학, 예술 등 다양한 문헌 자료에 나타난 나비의 상징을 7가지 측면-신성, 죽음과 재생 및 영혼, 초월, 자유와 해방, 행복과 사랑, 길상과 예보, 장수-으로 확충하였다. 이후 실제 모래놀이치료 사례에 나타난 나비의 상징을 분석하여, 나비가 내담자의 무의식 속 심리적 고통, 갈등, 억압을 상징적으로 드러내었으며, 이를 의식 발달과 내적 변환으로 나아가는 상징으로 작용함을 확인하였다. 나비는 무의식에 억압된 감정의 통로이자 자아 발달, 정서적 회복, 자기(Self)의 통합의 가능성을 나타내는 상징으로 드러났다. 내담자들은 나비 상징을 통해 무의식을 의식화하였고, 자아를 발달시켜 나갔으며, 집단에 적응적으로 변화되었으며, 개성화의 과정으로 나아갔다. 본 연구는 나비라는 상징을 중심으로 한 해석이 모래놀이치료에서 내담자의 정신세계를 깊이 이해하고 해석하는데 기초자료를 제공하였다는 데 연구의 의미를 가지며, 향후 치료적 개입에 대한 학문적 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the function of butterfly symbols in the internal psychological development process of clients by considering the symbol of butterflies and exploring the symbolic meaning of butterflies in sand play treatment cases from an analytical psychological perspective. To this end, the biological characteristics of butterflies and symbols of butterflies in various literature materials such as myths, folktales, literature, and art were expanded to seven aspects: sacredness, death and regeneration and soul, transcendence, freedom and liberation, happiness and love, good fortune and forecast, and longevity. Later, by analyzing the symbols of butterflies in actual sand play treatment cases, it was confirmed that butterflies symbolically revealed psychological pain, conflict, and oppression in the unconscious of the client, and acted as a symbol for the development of consciousness and internal transformation. The butterfly turned out to be a channel of emotion suppressed by the unconscious and a symbol representing the possibility of self-development, emotional recovery, and self-integration. Through butterfly symbols, clients became conscious of the unconscious, developed the self, changed adaptively to the group, and proceeded to the process of individualization. This study is meaningful in that the interpretation centered on the symbol of butterfly provided basic data for deeply understanding and interpreting the mental world of the client in sand play therapy, and it is expected that it can be used as basic academic data for therapeutic intervention in the future.
